Classic Friday walk - Silver Mines San Carlos

Explore the ancient silver mines which have been mined for 1000`s of years.

Simon leads this walk and will show you the ancient silver mines which have been mined for 1000`s of years and were only finally abandoned in the 1950`s.

You will visit the very ancient Phoenician mines and also the more modern deep shaft mines where you can peer down the deep shafts. Its a strange site which used to employ 100`s of people in terrible conditions deep underground, the above ground buildings with chimneys are still standing.

The area around the mines is wonderful woodland which you will be walking though and enjoying.

DATE & TIME: Friday 1st December - 10.00h
MEETING POINT: Las Dalias- just before San Carlos
RATING: Easy / Medium. Total 12km´s. only a few short hills, some loose stones underfoot at times. Will take about 4 hours for the walk
DONATION: The walks are by donation (suggested €10 per person)
You don't have to make a reservation for our community walks. You just can show up at the meeting point.
