6 Ibiza Christmas markets to visit now

A festive round-up of some of the best Christmas markets for 2018 across the island.

Christmas does come but once a year and on Ibiza, it's time for the Christmas markets that take place all across the island. Our selection below should warm your heart and get you into the festive mood. As well as decorations, you can get some handmade goods and stocking fillers for your family and friends. Ho ho ho!


INTERNATIONAL CHRISTMAS MARKET, VARA DE REY, IBIZA TOWN

After a two-year absence, Ibiza Town's celebrated Christmas market comes back to the Vara de Rey central square in the old town. This year, there are 24 stands selling Christmas decorations and hand-crafted goods like clothes and jewellery plus food stalls where you can pick up some tapas such as spicy sobrasada sausage with a glass of wine for very little.

Holy Shit Xmas Market, Ca'n Pere Mussona

Fashion, jewellery and art down on the farm for the Holy Shit Christmas market. All proceeds from food, drink and stallholder rents support the upkeep of this working farm. Go and hug the animals and bless the vegetables. Located between Santa Eulalia and San Carlos, this makes for some great rural Christmas fun. Mulled wine is on offer to warm your bones.

LAS DALIAS CHRISTMAS MARKET

Las Dalias gets started with its Christmas market in San Carlos, starting at 17:00 on the first day. Look out for a visit from Santa Claus on the 23rd from 19:00. Here, there are lots of stalls selling Christmas decorations, jewellery, belts, handbags made by hand and crafts from all over the world. A must try is a glass of glühwein, the warm, spiced wine from Germany that has become a Las Dalias Christmas market tradition.

ATZARÓ CHRISTMAS MARKET

Starting very soon, Atzaró near San Lorenzo, has two markets during the month of December 2018 - great for some last minute present shopping. The market has kids' activities and Father Christmas will be there to listen to all your little ones' requests. If you fancy a lovely lunch featuring vegetables from the venue's own garden, then give the restaurant a go or just enjoy the stunning grounds and surrounding scenery.

When: 16 and 23 December 2018



Casa Maca Christmas market

A new event for the whole family, based on the Christmas markets of Germany and Austria, at Casa Maca outside Ibiza Town. Stalls selling crafts plus some excellent food and drinks will help you spend the day in a cheery seasonal way. Kids can go and see Santa Claus here and have photos taken with the friendly old man in exchange for a donation to charity. Residents of Ibiza and Formentera can enter a contest for the best Christmas tree too.

When: 13 - 16 December 2018


Formentera Christmas market

A trip over to Formentera's Christmas market will have you treated to a cavalcade of music from local musicians plus kids have lots of fun activities to keep them smiling. It all takes place in the main square of island capital San Francisco. Some great stalls, a lovely ambience and a bit of festive fun on Ibiza's sister island.
