The tourist season in Ibiza officially started on May 1st

The tourist season in Ibiza officially started on May 1st which coincided with Santa Eulalia's traditional spring celebration fiesta with a parade of horse drawn carts among many other events.
There'll be many more tourists here for the next big event of May, Ibiza town's Medieval Festival and Market which is held every year on the second weekend of May, which means it starts on Friday 6th to Sunday 8th this year.
Another festival which dates back hundreds of years is San Isidro, the patron saint of those in agriculture. It's held on Sunday 15th May in San Jose and features a super display of tractors and ploughs, as well as farm animals, local crafts and a the second parade of horse drawn carts of the month.

If you fancy a laugh, then the Magiclown festival should raise the odd titter. It takes place from the 12th to 15th of May by the Hotel Palladium in Playa den Bossa and the kids' park in Cala de Bou.
The vast majority of Ibiza's bars and restaurants are now open for business and lovers of cheap food and a good craic will be interested in the Medieval tapas nights in Ibiza town, with tapas and drinks for €2 or €4.
Dance fanatics will be happy to hear that Pacha is now open every night, though most of the other clubs will only open much later in the month or even early June.
