About Pyramid Special
Taking inspiration from Amnesia's Techno parties of old, Pyramid is the club's in-house production specialising in underground dance music.
Away from its weekly Sunday parties, Pyramid usually gifts this wonderful one-offs at the start of summer, almost as a little preview before its main Opening Party several weeks later. After missing last year due to refurbishment works, the tradition is back in 2026.
Pyramid Special takes place immediately after IMS Grand Finale - the outdoor party in the Old Town. The three-day-long International Music Summit is a busy period widely regarded as Ibiza's season's curtain-raiser.
What a better way to set the bar for Amnesia's fiftieth anniversary year.

San Rafael is a village in the middle of the island, but Amnesia itself is located off the main road between San Antonio and Ibiza Town. There are some small "local bars" in the centre of San Rafael, but you are probably better served having pre-drinks wherever you are departing from.
You can catch the L3 disco bus from either direction (or alternatively the regular L3 service if you are travelling before midnight/after 06:30 - it isn't unknown!) If you are travelling from Ibiza Town, the bus stop is on the opposite side of the road and you will need to use the footbridge to cross.
There is a taxi rank on the same side of the road as the club.

Who?
Sven Väth's love affair with Ibiza began in the '80s, but, when it comes to a specific club, he only ever had eyes for Amnesia. It was love at first sound. Starting in 1999 and staying for 19 out of 20 of the subsequent years, Cocoon, Amnesia and their crowd shared a special relationship.
Ahead of Cocoon's return to Amnesia in mid-July, this is an ideal chance to see Sven take the brakes off early in summer. In fact, he hasn't played over Ibiza opening weekend in as long as we can remember. That alone spells magic.
Next, let's look at Luciano - another veteran of Amnesia's Terraza.
Whether solo or paired up, his exploits in this room tell their own story. An unpredictable DJ, it's pointless speculating how things will turn out, but what we can say with certainty, is that magic will be in abundance on this night.
The fact that Sven and Luciano have not shared this dancefloor in well over a decade, is reason enough to embrace all the wonderment it throws up. Two Cocoon originals back together to launch Amnesia into her fiftieth year. Even the words on paper give us goosebumps.
Next door in the Main Room, the tempo is dialled up and full-bodied Techno is the order of the day. Euphoric, whimsical, floaty and occasionally pounding on the Terraza and white-knuckle and rabid in the Main Room - that's just how Pyramid breaks down most weeks.

- Sven Väth has not played Ibiza opening weekend in many years - finally that is put right
- Pyramid consistently attracts one of the most musically savvy yet loco crowds on Ibiza
- Pyramid commands a strong local turnout. It's a Spanish party. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do..."
- after the last tune has faded at IMS Grand Finale in the castle, you're going to be eager to continue
- it's Amnesia's first party of summer in its fiftieth year - a measuring yard that sets the pace
Top tip: Going to IMS Grand Finale first? Some forward planning won't go amiss.
Ibiza Town is incredibly busy immediately after the party and past years have proved the taxi situation to be chaotic either side of midnight. With the disco bus not yet running, you have two viable options: either find a bar and wait for the queue to die down or exit Dalt Vila early (recommended 22:30 to 22:45) and beat the rush. Tough call, but somebody's gotta make it.
