Sunday 8 June marks the return of London-based label and DJ Mag’s Breakthrough Label of the 2024, Sondela to the White Isle as it takes on Chinois Ibiza.
The night’s line-up brings four international guest artists to the glitzy nightclub in Ibiza Marina.
They include Nitefreak (pictured above), Luch, Ankhoï and Jamiie. The former three make their Sondela DJ debuts, while Jamiie returns as a familiar face and longtime friend of the label.
Founded by Louie Dunmore (one half of the Dunmore Brothers) and guided creatively by Cleido, the label is committed to pushing the Afro House and Afro-Tech genre forward. The movement has been gaining traction on a global scale, especially over the last half a decade.
Following a memorable 2022 campaign at the former Bora Bora under the Defected umbrella, Sondela has now re-entered the scene as an independent force.
Otherwise, little has changed. Sondela continues to elevate African-influenced electronic music to club destinations around the world.
Though a relatively new platform, it has earned a steadfast reputation, selling out parties in London, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Amsterdam, Malta and Dubai, all in the past few years alone. No wonder Ibiza is back on its radar.
