One More Tune | Dave Pearce

Ending on a high and sending the crowd home happy on Thursdays at Eden with One More Time Ibiza.

Tapping into the energy force commonly referred to as "nostalgia", One More Time Ibiza gets eight dates at Eden this summer.

Picture the scene if you will: you've just spent the last few hours smashing out classic tracks from the past 25 years. As the night draws to a close, only the diehards remain in the crowd - and they're like putty in your hands. The sound engineer gives you the signal indicating the end is nigh, so you slowly fade out of your current selection as the house lights come up.

The crowd are united and vocal in their demands: "one more tune", "one more tune", "one more tune". It's your obligation to send them home happy.

You're going to do it, of course, but not before playing with them a little. Hovering your finger over the deck, you pause for dramatic effect and add a split-second of doubt. Then you slam your finger down and the dancefloor goes nuts below you.

That's the premise here. We ask the headliners one simple but important question: what track are you choosing to close the night? Last to headline is Dave Pearce, who spearheads the final party on Thursday 29 June.

One more tune | 006 | Dave Pearce

Track choice: Delerium | Silence (Tiësto In Search Of Sunrise Mix) | Nettwerk Productions | 2000

"I remember the day I got sent a promo and listening over and over, then that night doing a Radio 1 Dance party on the beach. Seb Fontaine dropped it just before I came on. I watched the reaction from the crowd, who would not have known the track. I knew then this would be a special record for me for years to come. I've played it hundreds of times since.

Tiësto's remix is perfect and really heightens the drama of the breakdown. It's got that funky Trance groove powering the rest of the track. When Sarah McLahlan's vocal cuts through, it's just powerful raw emotion in her voice.

Happiness and sadness at the same time. It feels really spiritual and creates a euphoric sense of unity on the dancefloor - a shared moment with hands in the air."

No disputing this selection and what a poetic justification for picking it. Thank you, Dave.
