Paradise records one of the most seminal nights of summer

Jamie Jones goes back-to-back with Seth Troxler on Amnesia's Terrace.

Bringing deep underground sounds and tropical vibes to hungry clubbers, The Age of Love has been felt at Amnesia every Wednesday this summer for Paradise.

Hot Creations creator and founder Jamie Jones leads the pack each week. He's a DJ who could attract the masses without any assistance, yet still invites some of the biggest names in Techno to play alongside him.

Last week we joined him and famed American DJ and producer Seth Troxler for a back-to-back that brought the crowds in their droves. It's not often you can get a pairing of this magnitude, both with their own unique yet revered style of play.

Last Wednesday was their night and the hordes that filled the dancefloor as their set-time approached knew it was a special night to be part of.

Dancefloor mecca

Dancefloor mecca The Terrace was host to the iconic four hour b2b between Jamie Jones himself and Seth Troxler.

Unique to Paradise, the DJ booth is brought forward to elevate the pioneers and bring them closer to the crowd. Not only does this create a more intimate connection between themselves and the dancefloor, but it helps accommodate the large Hot Creations entourage backstage.

Wherever you were standing, whether that be getting involved in the mixer or spectating from VIP balcony above, the vibes were unrivalled. Having attended several earlier Paradise parties, this was the busiest one we've attended to date. The atmosphere was electric, to say the least.

Female bosses La Fleur and Ida Engberg warmed up for this special performance, with each of them showcasing their own distinct musical identity. That meant we got the full spectrum of underground music, from Melodic Techno to Tech-ier beats.

As much as we enjoyed those earlier sets, it would be inaccurate to call the closing b2b as anything but the highlight of the night.

Playing all the way until curfew, Jamie and Seth treated us to some choice track selections. Bruno Furlan's Nobody, Dmitri Saidi's Toma and Steve Mulder & Roel Salemink's remix of Love Story some of the big hitters lapped up by the crowd.

The Age of Love

Music aside, the Paradise fingerprint is all over Amnesia. Anatomical body parts, abstract shapes and a stairway to nowhere hang from the ceiling. Dancers dressed as futuristic androids with glittery dreads gyrate and sweat on stage. This is truly The Age of Love.

Next door, The Music Box (otherwise known as the Main Room) was taken over by newly promoted Paradise resident Manda Moor, followed by seasoned DJs Archie Hamilton and Ilario Alicante. Different to any other night at Amnesia, the industrial, scaffolded music box makes you feel like you're in a whole new, technical dimension.

And whenever things got a bit too much in either room, we could retreat to the oasis of Pharaoh's Garden for a ciggie or just some good old fashioned fresh air, depending on your persuasion.

Far from feeling like a midweek affair, this felt like the height of the week - as it does each and every Wednesday.

The Age of Love continues tonight, 10 August, as Alan Fitzpatrick, AMÉMÉ, Syreeta, Rebūke and Sosa join Jamie Jones for another midsummer night of Techy excellence.

Coming up later in August, Loco Dice, Hot Since 82, Enzo Siragusa, Nicole Moudaber, Skream, East End Dubs, Chris Stussy and Fleur Shore are all set to appear.

Overall, it's already been a hell of a debut season at Amnesia for the Paradise crew. The next few weeks until the 5 October closing are going to be just as insane. Line-ups and tickets for the next nine parties can be found at the bottom of this page

Come and experience The Age of Love in all of its glory.
