Profiling an island personality.

Each week, we'll be featuring an island-based DJ who is making waves on Ibiza and further afield. From keen newcomers to established DJs, we will be bringing you the very best of the island's talent from places you might not have thought to look.

Introducing... Kellie Allen

For the first installment in our new series putting island-based DJs in the spotlight, we're setting the bar high with Octan Ibiza resident Kellie Allen.

This exciting young DJ has proved her place on Ibiza's circuit with a series of residencies, not to mention a presenting role on a monthly radio show. Her music is funky and her DJing effortless. Here is a talent that knows how to work the crowd with an arsenal of tech house tunes.

Originally hailing from London, Kellie Allen is now considered an honourary islander as an Ibiza resident all-year-round. She still enjoys regular jaunts back to her home town.

Her sound is best described as stripped-back, instrumental, deep and groovy, with influences of jazz and funk. Employing her singing background, she often uses samples of her own voice in her tracks too.

Her latest production is available for pre-order now, coming soon to Steve Bug's new label, Sublease. Take a listen to the snippet above.

Kellie has been all over the island this summer, most notably in her appearance at Steve Lawler's Warriors at the newly opened Octan. She's no stranger to the former Sankeys' site, having held down a residency at Tribal Sessions there in past years.

Elsewhere on the island, she's played sets at El Patio and spent her third year aboard the Lost In Ibiza boat party.

Throughout the summer, Kellie has nipped back to the UK for a handful of dates where she has played as part of the ABODE family. UK fans will have seen her at Studio 338 and she's set to play at the party's London festival at Finsbury Park in September.

On the first Thursday of the month, Kellie hosts her own radio show Kellie Allen: In The Mix on Ibiza Global Radio. After hosting the show for four years, 2019 marks the first year it has been broadcast live from the studio all around the world.

Her remaining dates on Ibiza this summer include the Lost in Ibiza boat party on Wednesday 18 September, where she'll be playing alongside Josh Butler

Kellie believes that living on Ibiza is a continued source of inspiration for her sound, especially when she gets outside to record interesting field noises to use in her music. For her, it adds a very personal touch to her music.

With praise and support from the likes of Steve Lawler, Jamie Jones and Pete Gooding, it's evident that Kellie has the talent to become a celebrated Ibiza DJ personality.

Don't miss your final chance to catch Kellie Allen play this summer, onboard Lost In Ibiza on 18 September. Grab your tickets below.
