Ibiza's Big Fireworks Display

The 8th August is almost upon us and that can mean only one thing

The 8th August is almost upon us and that can mean only one thing in Ibiza – Fireworks!! Yes sir, it's San Ciriac's day – the Patron Saint of Ibiza – so we'll be letting rip with €60,000 worth of gunpowder in a spectacular 20 minute display at midnight.

However, living as we do in the land of tomorrow, there is of course one major thing to sort out – the venue. The fireworks display normally takes place at the end of Ibiza harbour, owned by the Port Authority, which thus far has not granted permission for its use this year.

But worry not, for the Island Council has a contingency plan in the unlikely event of not receiving permission. The display will be held near the Hotel El Corso at s'Illa Plana (Talamanca) so that everybody will be able to see it.
