Easily the best current example of a party on Ibiza that embodies the carefree, inclusive spirit of Disco, Glitterbox returns to Sundays at Hï Ibiza in 2025. However, as those in-the-know will tell you, the date that falls on the first weekend in August is particularly special. That's because BBC Radio 1 Dance X joins the action.
This year, the annual weekender celebrates thirty years of Ibiza shenanigans.
Glitterbox harks back to the multicoloured exuberance of the '70s, '80s and '90s heyday. Sassiness and glamourpuss attitude can be found in spadefuls. The flamboyant extravaganza gives wings to the mind, body and soul of dance music through the ages.
Expect star-studded line-ups, dazzling performances from disco divas and a galaxy of sequins and spangles. Gay, straight or "mind your own business", here is a party for everybody. A place where prejudice and ego are left at the door.
The party's musical DNA and its roster of revered DJs promise a crossbreed of House, Disco and Soul.
