Nas added to Ibiza Rocks 2014 lineup

NAS is in an Ibiza State of Mind...

Massive news for hip hop fans young and old tonight – Ibiza Rocks has announced NAS is taking his Twenty Years of Illmatic tour to Ibiza!

On Wednesday the 9th of July Nas will take over the Ibiza Rocks Hotel stage as part of a global touring schedule celebrating twenty years since the long-player that changed the rap industry. For anyone remotely interested in hip hop, Illmatic is a must-have album; phrases like "most influential hip hop album of all time" have been thrown about by the media for twenty years and for once are not remotely hyperbolic. Released at a time when the rap album simply didn't exist, Illmatic was controversial, real and unbelievably popular. Whether you can connect with the issues or not, Illmatic is a collection of some of the sweetest beats in music – and you can now get your crunk on to them all, live on the island! Dope.

There will be no complaining “he didn't play my favourite” after this gig – Nas will be performing the Illmatic album in full, bringing the streets of New York to the Balearic Isles…. in a nice, musical, low-crime rate sort of way, of course. It's going to be one of the biggest gigs of the season, trust us.

“We're absolutely thrilled that Nas, a genuine hip-hop superstar, has joined our Ibiza Rocks schedule this summer, which is without doubt our best line-up to date. Having influenced so many of the acts that have taken to the Rocks stage, it's fitting that Nas is now performing at last in what will be a truly special night.” Shane Murray, Ibiza Rocks promoter.

Nas joins Ibiza Rocks' nicely blossoming line-up which already includes HAIM, The 1975, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Jake Bugg, The Kooks, Bastille, Skrillex, Tinie Tempah, John Newman, Clean Bandit, Lily Allen, Madness, Bombay Bicycle Club, Wolf Alice, Breton, Chloe Howl, Ella Eyre, Dan Croll, and Krept and Konan, with more still to be announced.

We know Ibiza Rocks will have some stiff competition this year on the live music front, but landing legendary bookings like this each season show the venue is on top of its game.

Tickets on sale now at 50€ for a standard ticket or 70€ for a VIP balcony ticket. Represent!
