The seventh edition of the HIC Summit will take place in Ibiza from 15-17 October, cementing Spain's position as an international leader in sustainable tourism innovation. This landmark gathering will convene global experts to address current challenges and drive change towards a tourism model for the 21st century.
Towards a Responsible Future
With tourism accounting for approximately 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions (UNEP), the sector faces urgent challenges. At the same time, it also holds significant potential for positive change. The summit will promote initiatives integrating environmental regeneration, social innovation and the Blue Economy, serving as a crucial catalyst for a more resilient and balanced tourism framework.
Programme Overview
15 October - The Right to Enjoyment with Responsibility
The opening day brings together Michelin-starred chefs and gastronomy experts to explore food's role as an economic and cultural driver. The Slow Food & Culinary Experience Hub will highlight local producers and traditional practices as essential elements of future tourism.
16 October - Conservation and Blue Economy
Focusing on marine conservation, this day examines opportunities in sustainable investment and entrepreneurship. Through panels on 'Innovation and Investment in Seas and Oceans' and 'Blue Life Regeneration', speakers will showcase pioneering projects protecting coastal ecosystems.
17 October - New Tourism Paradigms
The final day features international leaders in sustainable tourism. Discussions will address contemporary challenges while presenting success stories from pioneers like Costa Rica and the Seychelles.
The summit will also present the 2025 HIC Talentum Awards, recognising global innovators creating positive impact.
