It doesn't rain, it pours... Not only metaphorically, but quite literally, as was the case last week. Severe adverse weather caused localised devastation on the island's east coast, surrounding Ibiza Town, last week, and Chinois Ibiza was caught in the eye of the storm.
Despite setbacks caused by flood damage and the clean-up operation, Chinois is ready to bounce back as it announces its reopening.
After pausing midseason, it feels appropriate that the first party back should fall to the returning TRIP. The underground purveyor invites FUSE's top man Enzo Siragusa (pictured above) and Rossi., alongside residents Cesar Vinzent and Isbel on Wednesday 8 October.
This is the first of four TRIP parties taking place between now and 1 November.
Later dates are set to feature Ricardo Villalobos, Sonja Moonear, Dahiel Maher, Arapu, Priku, Craig Richards and Christian AB.
By now, many of you will have seen footage of the widespread damage caused by strong winds and heavy rainfall on 30 September. The transport network ground to a halt and many businesses were forced to shut and then remain closed.
While it was far from the only one affected, Chinois suffered more than most during the vital closing party run-in trading period.
Appetite was cancelled on the night of the bad weather itself as a safety precaution. Subsequently, the penultimate parties for both Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory and Mahmut Orhan, as well as the closing party of Claptone presents The Masquerade, were all pulled.
The Island Hospitality team have worked around the clock to bring the nightspot in Ibiza Marina back from the brink. From everybody at Ibiza Spotlight, we applaud their resilience and resolve. We very much look forward to reconvening and making up for hours lost on the dancefloor.
Tickets to TRIP's last four parties are on sale now and available to buy below. For all other remaining parties at Chinois, please head to our party calendar. We shall dance again. See you on the dancefloor.
