Museum Success

The new 'museum' of Dalt Vila has been pronounced a success by the council.

The new 'museum' of Dalt Vila has been pronounced a success by the council.

An average of 6,000 visitors a month have passed through the reception area where they can learn about the history of the old walled city and plan historical routes around it. When the record breaking heat of summer is taken into account, when even lying on a beach was an arduous task, the figure of 6,000 can be considered very good indeed.

The council are now planning phase 2 of the 'museumisation' of the area and certain parts of the citadel will be closed to the public over winter whilst information points and tableaux are installed.
