Demolition Derby

The San Antonio Town Council has finally approved the demolition of an eyesore on the outskirts of the town. The Sa Tanca sala de fiestas on the main road out of town at the side of the new roundabout, has remained unused for 20 years and has become 'home' to a colony of 'new age travellers'. However in the 60's and 70's as mass tourism first made inroads into Ibiza the Sa Tanca cabaret club was at the height of its fame where artists of the calibre of Julio Iglesias, Rafaela Carra, and Mari Carmen and her puppets (yes, THE Mari Carmen) could be seen. Let's hope the process, described as 'long and complicated' is completed sooner than the demolition of the illegally erected steel infrastructure of the Idea Disco (next to Es Paradis) which is still standing after at least 10 years!
