Are you Party Animal enough for Cocoon 2010?

Party animals just about sums up the goings on at Cocoon, every Monday at Amnesia.

What to do when you run out of superlatives describing Cocoon?

Well, talk about the line-up I guess, because everybody already knows by now that Cocoon has been THE hype party on the island for a while.

Whilst the theme raised a few eyebrows, it's relevance is that one of the specific attractions of Cocoon has always been the hardcore partying that goes on there, make no mistake, at Cocoon people get stuck in and the resulting atmosphere is electric.

The continued strength of the 2010's listings scream "ain't broke, don't fix it", other than a few minor tweaks along the way, a couple of more prominent figures and of course, some fresh blood.

The 5 main party animals are Sven, Ricardo, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin and Cassy, with multiple appearances also from Marco Carola, Raresh and Zip.

At the Opening, the crackle of Cassy's vinyl housed around the thriving Amnesia Terrace before Ricardo began what was to be some 20 hours of partying for him, yes there was a private after-hour happening somewhere that everyone descended upon. Over in the Main Room, the never-disappointing Mathias Kaden warmed up for lead Party Animal Papa Sven for a typically savage display of Vathism!

The line-ups are here for all to drool over; this party just HAS to be survived............and to do it, you'll need every animal instinct you've got!

Cocoon closing has always been higher entry, has it not?

We probably had a chat as thats exactly what we did.

You aren't an Italian guy who was chatting to us in French were you? That was a strange moment. Speaking bad French to two guys who then said they were from Italy.

No, I'm American. I was outside chatting with my two Swiss friends and a big bunch of random Dutch people. I vaguely remember topics ranging from the music George Clinton, Isaac Hayes and Motown.... to Stalin's deportation of the Chechens to Kazakhstan

We did save the money and slep all night until 1pm on tuesday. We started the day with some drinks and where at USHUAIA from the beginning. (Around 2pm)

This was one of the best IBIZA parties of my live. Ricardo's set was nice (even so he looked really full of d...) and Sven gave a full 6-7 hour set.
The beach was crowded and party was pumping...

Hopefully we see more of that in the new USHUAIA Location.

Evitad - exactly! I went outside for a bit to get some air during the Squillace/Tanzmann set and when I went back in for Dubfire it was perfect! :D

Cocoon Closing was a joke! The guestlist was soooooooooooo ****in long. Never seen anything like that... They really need to learn alot... :!:
Cocoon is like that every time, mate. Not just closing. I had offers to get on guestlist and turned it down because it's just not worth it standing in line for an hour+ to get in! Buy a ticket and you're inside in 5 minutes max :!:

I'd done all those (with SupermarXe in place of Be). The missus didn't make it as far as the Monday program though... so I went solo ;)

On Tuesday afternoon we were killing time waiting for going to catch our flight. Knew we should have walked down to Ushiaha but we had literally €0.00 left.

Is it bad that I'm glad Cocoon closing wasnt amazing......;)

CircoLoco before hand was AMAZING though.

Damnit damnit damnit
If I'd known it was at Ushuaia I would have dragged myself down the beach for a bit! No idea how that slipped past me.

Totally agree about the closing party, though. Some very random tunes!

short review from cocoon closing: quite disappointed. nighttime the music at amnesia was ok, but no highlights in a way. in the morning everything went all experimental and weird again...urgh, really!!!

the afterparty at ushuaia made up for it though, great vibe and great tracks from sven who was playing for about 15hours or so in total.

more to follow when i'm back!
