If you've ever watched the giant super fast ferries arriving in Ibiza's ports and wondered what if would be like to travel on one of these bullet shaped speedsters of the sea, well you can find out now thanks to Balearia.

super fast ferry balearia

The big ferry company is currently running a super fast ferry service from San Antonio to the beautiful island of Formentera three times a week with a timetable which makes the trip ideal for a day out.

Not normally linked, the ports of La Savina and San Antonio will enjoy this service on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until 10th September. The boats leave San An at 11.00, return at 19.00 with a journey time of less than an hour, a fare of €45.50 and you can take your bike or scooter for free!

As the crossing to Formentera can frequently be choppy on the smaller cruisers, going on the super fast is an ideal way to travel for landlubbers as it is only affected by the most adverse weather conditions. With comfortable seats, a bar, WiFi and reaching speeds of up to 32 knots travelling on the boat is a breeze.

Formentera's quite nice too, with its white sand and crystalline water – read all about it on our Formentera section.
