For the first time since 2015, we get a double-helping of IMS Dalt Vila as the action spreads to two days. Following the traditional season curtain-raiser on Friday, we go again on Saturday 30 April, but in a groundbreaking first, the keys are handed to a label for a full takeover.
What label? It can only be Defected Records.
Arguably the height of a three-day, four venue tour that sees Defected crisscross the island, this party is surely one for the books. Defected has taken the opportunity to stamp its footprint all over proceedings, honouring the faces that helped established it over the course of 20+ years.
House music thoroughbreds and longtime affiliates Bob Sinclar and Lil' Louie Vega, a headliner at IMS Grand Finale 2017, are two such examples. House music icon Danny Tenaglia and force of nature Honey Dijon add further firepower, before head honcho Simon Dunmore and Natasha Diggs complete the bill.
That stack of talent overlooking the Mediterranean sea from Dalt Vila's stunning locale points to a hazy afternoon of House hedonism as only Defected knows how. What a way to kick-off the 2022 season.
