Ibiza has long been one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the Mediterranean for couples seeking a unique setting for that most special of days.
Ibiza Spotlight interviewed expert wedding planner Lauren Kaycee from Hidden Treasures for some key tips for those starting to think about tying the knot on the White Isle.
After 23 years on Ibiza and with 16 years' experience in the bridal industry, Lauren is perfectly placed to deliver specialised advice and tailormade planning services on the island of love.
What makes Ibiza such an exclusive and special wedding destination?
There is always a strong connection between couples and the island. Many holidayed here growing up, worked a season, or even met here for the first time. There's something truly special about saying "I do" where their story first began.

The island offers an array of venues and endless social possibilities - from clubs and parties to holistic activities, incredible gastronomy, and iconic sunsets. It is a destination that has everything and continues to evolve. We have so many stories of how Ibiza has brought couples together. It really is a beautiful thing to witness.
What are the most common questions you are asked during a consultation, and which areas do clients focus on most?
To start off, I’d say the question of budgets and costs is usually the first thing they want to discuss, followed by asking about how everything actually works on the big day.
Planning a wedding is something couples generally have no experience of, so they are eager to get expert advice when it comes to details like timings, directing the guests, and the flow of the ceremony itself.

Personally, this is why I ensure each couple has a thorough consultation. Our team guides them smoothly so they can relax. Once the logistics are clear, the venue and styling then become their main focus. The venue sets the tone, with factors like the specific location - Ibiza has so many different settings to offer - minimum spends, and personal connection guiding the choice.
Then comes the issue of styling, I mean, achieving the particular visuals and aesthetics they desire. This is where they spend the longest time with our team, getting everything perfect.
In your opinion, what are the must-haves you tell Ibiza couples they require on their wedding day, and what should they focus on?
My number one must-have is this: create your own moments. Don’t do something just because it’s expected of you. Skip the cake or the first dance if you wish. Add a cocktail tower, a dress change, or personal vows. The possibilities are endless: you do you.

Tune into your own senses. We remember how we felt hearing a special song, how something tasted, what we saw when something was beautiful at a particular moment. Curate what you and your guests will remember; those details stay forever.
Lastly, I tell them to choose their favourite photographer and filmmaker with the utmost care; this is not an area to cut back on. Your photos and films are lifelong memories. Be obsessed with their work, ensure you connect with them, and trust your choice completely.
Let us know your top tips for couples:
- Focus on what the wedding means to you as a couple before adding details.
- Choose a planner you connect with, one who has experience and passion.
- Be true to yourself - don’t give in to pressure. Do what makes you happy, and your wedding will be unique and utterly iconic.
- Be realistic, don't over-schedule, so that you can be present in every moment.

Thank you so much, Lauren.
You are welcome. I’m happy to share with you what I have learned from many years of experience in the sector and hope it is of use to your readers when making such an important decision.
