Things to do this month in Ibiza - August 2016

Choice picks for a hot month

Creamfields Ibiza, Space Ibiza

Having debuted on the island at Ushuaïa last year, Creamfields is back for a round of sensational seconds, this time at Space to celebrate the famous club's last summer on Friday 5 August. Headlined by Armin Van Buuren, Alesso, MK, Pete Tong and many other huge artists, this is set to be one of the island's biggest events of the summer - people will be arriving in their droves especially for it.

Kumharas

Just because you are on holiday, you don't have to miss your morning yoga sessions. Kumharas, the place for beach-side Bohemia in San Antonio Bay, has just the answer. For a small fee you can enjoy one of its Mindfulness sessions every day of the week from 10am. Choose from things like tai chi, yoga in different flavours, Pilates and meditation. It's one of the coolest places on the island to do your morning workout before the summer heat descends. When done, treat yourself to a healthy breakfast!

10 Years Diynamic, DC10

Solomun is undoubtedly one of the globe's most successful selectors right now, and this year, his label Diynamic turns 10. To celebrate, the big man will be hosting a special one-off takeover at DC-10 on Friday 19 August, where Mladen and the full Diynamic posse will be spinning the tunes and making sure the birthday celebrations go off with a bang. Head down to see Diynamic's finest in action.

Beyond the beach at Salinas

Many of you will have been to the super cool beach at Las Salinas, though what you might not know is that it's set in a big protected natural park of the same name. For the whole of August (every Wednesday only), there are free guided tours of the park, where you will see some incredible and very beautiful nature and we promise it will be worth it. Look out for the many species of water birds like flamingoes, Snowy Plovers and the Balearic Shearwater sea bird. Meets daily at the Sant Francesc Interpretation Centre, leaving at 10am. Call 971 177 688 (extension 3, option 4) for more details.

Girls on surf

If you have ever wanted to learn how to surf, then there's no better place than Surf Lounge in San Antonio, aboard its fantastic artificial wave machine. On Wednesdays from 7-9pm there's free surfing with "Ladies Sunset" for all women aged 16+, where you can be instructed by the very best in the art of surfing and bodyboarding. There's lots of space to chill as well as be active here and the food and drinks are top notch. Places are limited plus there's a minimum spend on food and drink, but hey the surf is free!

Dogs are art

Local artist Andreu Moreno has been making waves with the statues he created of a male and female version of the Ibizan Hound, or “Podenco” for local gallery P Art Ibiza. Ten different artists have painted them in various styles and colours to fit a personality and tell a story. Now these dogs are coming into the open with outside displays across the island. These brightly painted pooches can be seen in Marina Botafoch till 3 August (run fast), then from 5-7 August in Santa Gertrudis, 22-24 August in San Antonio and 22-24 September in San José.

We hope you found something you like. Remember there are many other things to do on Ibiza in our Events Calendar and our Party Calendar is second to none for clubbing information. Make sure you check them out.
