The massive Andalucian community in Ibiza celebrated one of its most important festivals last weekend.

The Rocío, celebrated forty days after Easter, took place concurrently in Ibiza and San Antonio. With the participants, 'Romeros' dressed in their finest traditional garb - think Flamenco - there is a blessing of the Virgin of the Rocío in the church, then singing, dancing, and an enormous procession of horse drawn carts from Ibiza to San Jordi, and Port des Torrent to San Antonio.

For me one of the highlights was a display of prancing equestrianism by four 'caballeros' on pure black mounts at the Cala de Bou neighbours association.
