Ibiza & Formentera Preservation is joining the Qué Celeste festival, which celebrates its tenth anniversary in Formentera this September, with a programme of activities designed to bring environmental conservation closer to the public through participation, awareness, and culture.
On Friday,18 September, from 09:00 to 13:00, step into the shoes of a marine biologist for a morning of hands-on fieldwork along Formentera’s rugged coastline. Led by Samuel Pinya, Ecology professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), this open excursion offers a rare glimpse into the Coastal Health Monitoring Scheme.
Participants will observe local marine species up close and learn how scientists assess the ecological state of the Mediterranean. It’s a fascinating, interactive chance to discover how marine environments are surveyed and understood first-hand.
Don't forget your swimwear, towel, and sturdy footwear suitable for walking on coastal rocks.
