How to get from Ibiza Airport to your Accommodation

Book an airport Transfer

Hire a car

Hire your car in advance from Betacar or one of the other hire car companies and have it ready and waiting for you at the airport. With Betacar you even can complete the paperwork at their airport office whilst you wait for your baggage - it couldn't be easier than that.

You can quickly reach all the islands resorts on the new motorway, although do remember all the signs are written in Catalan, the local dialect (see the differences between Catalan and Spanish), so Ibiza becomes Eivissa and San Antonio becomes Sant Antoni. The roads are well signposted, although the sign to Sant Antoni is rather small - take the next exit after the exit to the hospital Can Misses. Ferry to Formentera

There is a regular ferry service from Ibiza Town to Formentera. To get from the airport to the harbour you can take a taxi or the bus. For more info please have a look at the page of Mediterranea Pitiusa.

Get a taxi

The taxi rank (stop) is located just outside the arrivals hall and taxi journeys are now charged on a meter. (see the taxi prices per kilometre) Rough costs are about €10 to Playa d’en Bossa, €15 to Ibiza Town, and €25 to San Antonio.

Catch the bus

To Ibiza Town via San Jorge (and the port for Formentera ferries)- The number 10 bus shuttle is every 30 minutes from the stop outside arrivals from 06.50 to 23.50 in summer. These hours go from 18.04.08 until 31.10.08.

To Ibiza Town via Playa den Bossa - The number 10B bus shuttle is every 60 minutes from the stop outside arrivals from 06.50 to 23.50 in summer. In July and August there is a night service every hour from 1.50 until 5.50.

Connections can then be made to all Ibiza’s main resorts at a cost of less than €2 per journey.

To San Antonio via San Jose - the number 9 bus shuttle leaves from the stop outside of arrivals at 7.45, 9.15, 10.45, 12.15, 13.45, 15.15, 16.45, 18.15, 19.45, 21.15, 22.45 & 00.15. In July and August there are services at 1.45 and 3.15. The return service is 7.00, 8.30, 10.00, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30, 16.00, 17.30, 19.00, 20.30, 22.00 & 23.30 and July/August services 1.00 and 2.30.

To Es Canar via Sta Eularia - the number 24 bus shuttle leaves from the stop outside of arrivals at 7.45, 9.15, 10.45, 12.15, 13.45, 15.15, 16.45, 18.15, 19.45, 21.15, 22.45 & 00.15. In July and August there are services at 1.45 and 3.15. The return service is 7.00, 8.30, 10.00, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30, 16.00, 17.30, 19.00, 20.30, 22.00 & 23.30 and July/August services 1.00 and 2.30.

Taxi or Shuttle from the airport?

Advantages of the Shuttle

• Met on entering the arrivals lounge at the airport
• Taken in comfort to your destination, in a vehicle suited to your party’s needs
• The fares have already been budgetted for.
• Return Journey - No Hassle, Fuss or Bother you are collected from your accommodation in plenty of time for checking in.
• No Queuing in line waiting for a taxi.
• No hoping that one taxi can take all the party plus the luggage. Two taxis = double cost.
• No wondering exactly how much the journey will cost.
• No having to keep the return fare saved
• No hoping that you can book a taxi to take you back to the airport in time.

Disadvantages of Shuttle

• Sometimes there will be a short wait at the airport on arrival if guest on other flights must be picked up. This is always kept as short as possible.

Advantages of the Taxi

• Could be cheaper

Disadvantages of the Taxi

• Cannot be pre-booked to be waiting for you on arrival
• When there are a number of planes arriving at short intervals the taxi queue can be very long and, there may be no taxis at the rank, so you will be waiting for a taxi to set down before picking up the next passengers.
