New Year's Eve is the most glamorous night of the year in Ibiza. It's when everyone gets to dress in their poshest frocks, go out in the evening for a really good meal and at the stroke of midnight drink Cava and eat one of 12 grapes on each chime of the bell to give 12 months good luck for the coming year.
It's then when all the fun starts as people head out to dance in one of the organised events or discos, which can be a bit of a problem as taxis are heard to come by and who wants to drive when you're partying?
The perfect solution to the mid-celebration transport problem can be found at one of Ibiza's coolest venues, Aura, on the San Juan road near San Lorenzo where fine dining and dancing late into the night is on the menu for NYE.
A favourite summer location for dining al fresco, modern technology in the form of a state of the art heated garden canopy means that punters can eat out, and in, at the same time, no matter what the weather.
For only €65, Aura is providing a special four course dinner consisting of an aperitif - Acorn fed Jamón Ibérico and Smoked Norwegian salmon – followed by a starter of Cream of green asparagus with yogurt & black truffle mousse. The main course is Char-grilled rib-eye of Aberdeen Angus, chestnut puree, mushrooms & caramelised scallions which sounds mouth wateringly delicious, and lashings of discipline will be needed to leave room for the dessert, Chocolate in textures with red berries. Mmmmmm chocolate.
In addition there are home made breads, a NYE party pack, lucky grapes and a glass of Champagne. Resident turntablist DJ Antz takes over after the chimes with disco beatz until dawn so you can dance your dessert off.
We strongly advise booking in advance for what promises to be one of the best nights of the year and also the closing party of Aura for their holidays until spring. Here's their latest tweet with all the vital info:
“If you plan join us for NYE dinner e-mail email@example.com or call 971325356 for a dinner reservation as it is filling up fast!”
Have a great time everybody that's going!
