Free Disco Bus Regulation?

the service is one way only

San Antonio council wants to regulate the free buses which the big discos in the borough use to transport guests from the pre club bars to the clubs themselves.

The council are not particularly happy with the way the buses pick up and drop off clients in areas that are not really suitable for this activity. The other aspect that the council is unhappy with is that the service is one way only and at the end of the night hundreds of punters flood out of the discos and end up using pirate taxis to get home.

San Antonio wants to have some regulations in force by next season.

Not right in front of Space. A little further over. About halfway between Space and Bora Bora. Across the street from Tantra bar.

I've got a return bus from Supermartxe at Privilege in '10, and last year i got one from Space after the Be opening party and the Es Puma Foam Party at Amnesia.

They always say they do a return bus, but I've never actually seen one go when I've been at one of the clubs.

Transport
A new bylaw has been agreed by the Town Hall, whereby tourist buses transporting people for a night out are not permitted to circulate through the streets of the town and must leave their passengers in the bus terminal and collect them from there as well. Not only do these buses cause a lot of noise, but they tend to block the traffic flow in narrow streets as there is no room to park. Transport Councillor Francisco Montilla pointed out that this measure will be advantageous to the shopkeepers in the town as people coming from other parts of the Island (to visit the sunset strip in the evening, for example) will be able to wander through the streets and see what is on offer. He reiterated that this summer the discotheques which run their own buses to collect clubbers will also have to return them to their hotels once the evening is over. In this way he believes that the problem of hundreds of youngsters milling around the exits of the discotheques without a clue as to how they are going to get home will be eliminated to a large extent.

always loved watching the chaos in the disco-buses in pdb ...
... squeezing 5000 people in one bus with no aircon and probably 55° inside ...
full of louts chanting that "seven nation army"track and stuff
big plus of these buses - 99.99% guarantee that some beautiful girls are on board:p
its easier to pick up girls on the disco bus than in the clubs

It is only about 5-7 min walk to the bus station and it is pretty central to san an, plus it was always chaos where they currently pick up from. I think the bus station a much better place to be picked up from.

in order to avoid the noise and traffic chaos caused by the disco buses ...
people will have to walk a little bit from now on ! !
"noise", "traffic chaos", blahblah ...
... couldn´t this be a cheap trick to prevent people from leaving
(or at least make it more difficult to leave) sanan
and spending their money elsewhere in ibiza or pdb-discos ??

The free disco buses outside of Kanya, and behind Mint etc were always unreliable I tried to use them last year and it never really worked, i always just went for the buses at the bus station anyway.

in order to avoid the noise and traffic chaos caused by the disco buses, the council will ban them from circulating in the town and there will be a new area for them near the bus station:

 san antonio, without disco buses

so forget about getting the disco bus from itaca, kanya, etc..... people will have to walk a little bit from now on ! !
