zero chance of rain

Just a quick note to all Spotlight readers heading to Ibiza in the next couple of days. Don't bring your thermals, it's going to be quite warm.

Aemat, the State Meteorological Agency has warned that temperatures will be high across the Balearic Islands over the next few days and there will be zero chance of rain! Mallorca, where the sea influence is less because of the island's size will see temperatures up to 38 degrees whilst Ibiza will be a little cooler at a mere 34!

Bring plenty of sunblock and drink lots of water if you're planning on spending time on our beaches.

It's what the french call 'Canicule' over here as the mercury has hit 40°C+ in the last few day's with the night's not dropping below 25°C8) But very bad thunderstorms as i post this reply along with very strong winds8O

NB: I should also point out that even major sporting events have suffered because of the heat with the goalkeeper of Bordeaux suffering from heatstroke the other night v Auxerre and last night the St Etienne game was stopped twice in each half for a five minute break so that both the teams players could have a drink. Now that's something i've never seen before in a european football game.
