Umami Group restaurants are popping up all around the Balearics and the latest venue to join the growing portfolio, K.OBA, is here in Santa Eulalia. Nestled beside the soft sand of the beach at Santa Eulalia Bay, this laid-back little oasis displays the natural, jungle aesthetic that unites all the group’s restaurants.
Just two steps away from the pretty little beach, the chiringuito-style restaurant is resplendent in bamboo and palms, hardwoods and grass mats - all the materials necessary to make you feel instantly relaxed and in a holiday state of mind. The musical soundtrack is also programmed to fit the South American jungle vibes, with deep electronic rhythms and Afro beats.
The venue looks even more stunning after dark, with its warm lighting, and will be a favourite vantage point for one of those legendary moonrise suppers in high summer.
K.OBA chefs have put together a menu that fits perfectly with its surroundings. There is a wide choice of meat and seafood dishes on display, complemented by the liberal use of Asian ingredients, and a fine selection of excellent sushi dishes. Each dish has been cleverly thought out with an attention to detail that is remarkable. But that won’t stop many diners from reaching for the massive mature Tomahawk steaks!
We recommend staying around for dessert, which is possibly the restaurant’s finest course. Although a small choice, the pastry chef has a lot of fun making these delectable creations that are both delicate and fulfilling.
K.OBA is soon to be joined by a chilled-out brother day club, a little further along the beach, further enhancing this little corner of Santa Eulalia del Río which has already become one of the island’s coolest destinations.
