Ibiza Beaches: Disabled Facilities

Thanks to the Spanish Government's scheme to promote employment

Thanks to the Spanish Government's scheme to promote employment by financing public works, Ibiza now has many more disabled facilities on its beaches.

The Mayor of San Antonio has just paid an inspection visit to the last of its beaches – Cala Gracio – to have ramps, changing rooms and toilets constructed which are specially adapted for disabled people.

Ramp for Disabled Access to the beach

Costing €180,000 the new facilities can be found on the town's other beaches, Cala Salada, es Caló des Moro, es Regueró and es Pouet. Unfortunately the difficult topography of Cala Saladeta and Cala Gracioneta does not allow disabled facilities on those beaches.

One of the beach lifeguards contracted by the council is specially qualified to help and accompany disabled people on the beach and into the sea if the service is requested in advance at the town hall.
