Ibiza's Modern Hostals

Mention the word 'Hostal' and very possibly we make a connection

Mention the word 'Hostal' and very possibly we make a connection with the British term Hostel, all bunk-beds, backpacks and shared toilets down the hallway.

Here in Spain this certainly isn't the case, especially nowadays. Here the word Hostal has no connotations with youth and Spartan conditions – more with friendly, personal service combined with an a family atmosphere in a smaller building. Why's this? Because they tend to be family owned and staffed and pride themselves on the service they provide.
These days the facilities in Hostals are equal to (and sometimes better than) many hotels. Here in Ibiza, you'll find hostals which have been renovated in individual styles whilst retaining their friendly ambience.
In San Antonio the Hostal Mitjorn has 18 rooms in fresh, zingy colours and a funky bar, the Hostal Marí is fully air-conned and comes with a tapas bar popular with the locals, whilst the Hostal Florencio's rooms are modern, bright and with designer style en suite bathrooms. And all in the centre of buzzing San An!
In Santa Eulalia, there's a slight change of style, as the Hostals Can Bufi and Buenavista combine modern convenience with the charm of days gone by in their country style residencies.
The Hostal La Marina has presided over Ibiza town's harbour since 1862 and now has individually kitsch rooms and whilst further out of town the Hostal Talamanca's 44 quiet rooms are just a few footsteps from the beach.

So if you see the word Hostal whilst browsing through our accommodation section don't let it put you off, you just might find a little gem.
