Intimate clubbing returns in 2024 with Avyca Ibiza

Playa d'en Bossa's 1,500 capacity space is back in a new incarnation.

Since the pandemic ended, clubbing on Ibiza has bounced back on an unprecedented scale beyond our wildiest imagination. Yet despite the success, its always felt there has been a missing piece of the jigsaw.

That missing piece of the jigsaw is 1,500 capacity Avyca Ibiza.

Taking over the site that formerly housed Sankeys Ibiza and Octan, Avyca tested the waters with a short trial run late last year. A soft launch saw the 2vilas-led More Than Music posse show Ibiza winter residents a vision of the near future.

After that little teaser, things went quiet again. Now, though, Avyca is starting to wake up.

Clubbers should not expect Avyca to be open seven nights a week this summer. With opening slanted for mid-June, club organisers still anticipate a run of 80 to 90 parties in the maiden year.

Already, the first few weekly promoters have been revealed.

Manchester-based Tech House stronghold Kaluki was the first to be announced. Before the world was swept into turmoil at the start of 2020, Kaluki was due to take up residence at Octan. It's just to learn it will finally claim its spot. Kaluki gets underway on Sundays from 23 June.

Second to be revealed, was hard and fast Techno promoter Phase 2, bringing a real Berlin-style feel to Wednesdays from 19 June.

Third was Ro-Minimal after-hours specialist Them. All the way from Romanian capital Bucharest, Them dipped its toes into Ibiza with a single date takeover at Cova Santa last summer. Now, it'll have a weekly presence on Tuesdays from 9 July. Great news for fans of micro House music.

In addition to the parties, there will be investment in other areas.

Perhaps the raw warehouse aesthetic that was such a big part of its predecessors' character will be resigned to the past. In its place, patrons should certainly expect some upgrades and cosmetic changes, although the rooftop and multi-room layout will remain.

Unlike past incarnations, Avyca will further the scope of its musical offerings, not limiting itself solely to underground sounds and become altogether more diverse.

Intimate clubbing with a big emphasis on quality sound and a price-conscious approach is coming back in big way.

More detailed news on the programme will be available soon, while tickets for these three parties are on sale now. You can find them by clicking on the links in sky blue above or by visiting our party calendar.
