Ahoy there, readers! There’s exciting news from Aquabus, Ibiza’s premier low-cost ferry line. For the upcoming season, the renowned maritime company is adding an entirely new service, Aquabus Jet, to its regular Ibiza-Formentera route. At the heart of this development lies the recent addition of two state-of-the-art boats.
There’s no question that these sleek, gleaming aluminium-hulled vessels represent nothing less than a quantum leap forward in inter-island travel in terms of speed, size and comfort. Journey time from port to port—previously around 55 minutes—is now just 30 minutes, so you’ll be able to reach Formentera’s legendary beaches and shimmering aquamarine waters that much quicker! As for size, the ferries, which are 42 metres long and over 11 metres wide, offer plenty of room, each accommodating up to 410 passengers.
To cap it all, those travelling between the islands will now be able to choose from three different levels of accommodation, Standard, Confort, and Premium.
The Standard service offers a non-reclining seat on the lower deck and onboard Wi-Fi. For those seeking a bit more luxury, the competitively priced Confort service—located on the upper deck—includes reclining seats, a USB connection so you can charge your device and enjoy some great sounds while crossing, Wi-Fi, a free newspaper and a 10% discount on refreshments.
Finally, for those who wish to cruise in true style, Premium features all the above amenities, a range of newspapers and magazines, and free drinks and snacks served up by the friendly, helpful stewards who speak both Spanish and English. Best of all, there´s priority boarding meaning gone are the days of queueing in the heat!
