Sobrassada, the local spicy cured sausage lends its name to the races in the 15th Cursa de Sa Sobrassada, taking place in the village of Santa Gertrudis.
There are two races: a 1,6km “mini” race at 16:30 followed by a 21km night race at 18:00.
It is a relay half-marathon on asphalt. There are four different categories for the team event, ranging from 1 to 3 runners and a mix of male/female/mixed teams. The course is a 1,6 km circuit of Santa Gertrudis, and it's up to each team how many laps each runner completes.
The prizes for the winners are, of course, sobrassadas... Yummi!
