In San Antonio, the Christmas atmosphere is maintained with lighting, decoration and piped music in the streets and with various magical spaces such as Santa Claus' house, a Christmas market and activities and shows at the lighthouse at the end of the harbour, the Far de ses Coves Blanques.

The responsible councilor Miguel Tur explained that due to the circumstances and restrictions caused by Covid-19, the programme has been reduced by almost half but, equally, "it has been sought to make it a special Christmas with surprises and emotions so that the boys and girls maintain the illusion on these dates ". In any case, he has also appealed "to the responsibility and common sense of the citizens to avoid concentrations and respect all health measures to be able to enjoy a safe Christmas."

The Santa Claus house, located next to the large fountain of Passeig de ses Fonts, will host different activities and the visit of Santa Claus in days that will be announced soon so that children can see him and deliver their letter.

As a novelty this year, Sant Antoni will have the Piruleto mini train that will travel the streets of the town with music and a Christmas ambience. In addition, last year's initiative of the game of the elves is maintained, these are hidden in different corners of the municipality for the children to search for them and to take a photo with each one of them and publish these on social networks with the hashtag #NadalAPortmany. Children will also be able to listen to the story that they have saved in their QR codes.

In these festivities, there will be no shortage of the Three Wise Men from the East, who will display all their magic to reach all the houses of Sant Antoni safely during the night and on Three Kings Day. In the great Orient Palace in the fountain square Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will receive all the children of the municipality in organized groups and maintaining a safe distance.

Another novelty of the programme is the announcement of two contests, one for nativity scenes with the aim of maintaining and promoting this Christmas tradition, and the other for facades to promote the Christmas spirit in the streets of the municipality. The municipal crib will be located this year in the lighthouse Far de ses Coves Blanques.

The activities scheduled during the festivities, including storytelling, workshops or musical and magic performances, will be announced each week to ensure that they can be held in accordance with the restrictions and measures established by the health authorities.

This Friday, December 4, the festivities will be inaugurated with the lighting of lights and the Christmas tree, which this year will be held without any organized act. Due to the current situation, the activity of the Christmas market is also reduced, which this year will offer a commercial and artisanal offer, discarding the gastronomic offer to avoid crowds.

To say goodbye to the year, the City Council has proposed the activity 'Fer un Uc o brular el corn' from the promenade or from home so that they can be heard throughout the municipality and say goodbye to 2020 united from a distance.
