Frequently asked questions about Ibiza Spotlight Villa rentals.

What are the benefits of a legally registered villa?

These properties have been accredited by and registered with the Tourism Association of Ibiza. When you rent a legally registered property you have:

  1. Guarantee that your payments are secure.
  2. Guaranteed level of service and facilities.
  3. Guarantee of quality.
  4. Guarantee that the villa has the officially required safety standards.

Whom do I rent these villas from?

You are renting directly from the owner. Spotlight is providing a user friendly and helpful booking service, ensuring that all your questions are answered before your arrival. Our friendly and multilingual team know all the villas and villa owners personally and will help you find the right villa to suit your holiday expectations.

Prices

All prices published are per villa per day and include VAT if applicable. There are no other hidden charges.

Some villas offer the option to book the main house without the annexe/s for a lesser charge. The villas will never be booked or occupied by two separate paying clients during the same period.

What are the payment conditions?

Your booking is confirmed by paying a deposit equivalent to 30% (*) of the total value of the booking. The balance is due to be paid either in cash on arrival or by credit card in which case payment needs to proceed at least 30 days before your arrival. Some villas have slightly different terms, in any case you will always be informed in writing about the particular payment conditions in our reply to your initial booking request.

* For bookings of more than 13 nights:

Your booking is confirmed by paying a deposit equivalent to 50% of the total value of the booking. The balance is due to be paid either in cash on arrival or by credit card in which case payment needs to proceed at least 30 days before your arrival. For added security some villa owners may request full payment in advance. We shall inform you before you place your booking if this applies to your holiday villa.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

If you choose to pay by credit card (Visa Credit or Debit / Visa Electron / Mastercard / Eurocard), we reserve the right to levy a 1% handling charge for each payment made by this mean.

How are my payments protected?

All payments on Ibiza Spotlight's server are securely encrypted using 256-bit SSL technology. You can see the green padlock in the top left hand corner of the URL bar of your browser - which means you can safely transmit your credit card numbers in complete confidence.

We also use Verified by Visa / Mastercard SecureCode. This is an extra level of authentication which is required by your bank at the moment of purchase - usually a secret password, a pin number, an sms to your mobile with a one-time code, etc.

This gives you, the customer, and us, the merchant, a much higher level of security on credit card payments, as it guarantees the identity of the person making the purchase.

Credit card numbers are NEVER kept by Ibiza Spotlight.

Cancellations

If you cancel more than 60 days before your arrival, all payments will be refunded in full (**).

If you cancel more than 30 days but less than 60 days before your arrival, the villa owner will retain the deposit as a cancellation fee. If we find a replacement booking for the cancelled villa, we will then gladly refund your money (**).

If you cancel less than 30 days before your arrival, the full rental amount will be requested as compensation and cancellation fee. If we find a replacement booking for the cancelled villa, we will then gladly refund your money (**). If we cannot find a new customer in time, we will charge you for the full amount.

** Certain villas will not refund the deposit under any circumstances. Please find details under "Important Info" on each individual villa page and in the reply to your booking request.

IMPORTANT:.
We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance, which in certain cases - e.g. unforeseen illness - will compensate you for the cancellation fee, please check Terms & Conditions of the insurance policy.

ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING BY EMAIL.

in which you clearly state your BOOKING REFERENCE NUMBER, which is included in the printed confirmation voucher and email.

Special Offers

If a special offer is applied at the time of booking but the offer is no longer applicable or has expired when the booking is modified then the accommodation reserves the right not to apply the special offer to the modified booking (this could be the case with Early Booking Offers when a change needs to be made after the booking period for the discount has expired).

Confirmation of Reservation

You will receive confirmation of your reservation by email.

This email is your guaranteed VOUCHER for the chosen accommodation, and is to be presented to the villa when you check-in upon arrival. In the unlikely event that you do not receive this confirmation, please send a mail to villas@ibiza-spotlight.com indicating your booking reference number and email address.

Insurances

We highly recommend you take out a travel insurance to protect you during your vaccation against liability in the case of:
- cancellation
- third party damage to the holiday home
- to cover any medical expenses
- to cover any other losses.

Furthermore, the medical centres here on Ibiza request you to carry your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to be able to receive free or reduced cost
medical treatment.

Special Requests

All accommodations do their best to comply with special requests as requested by their customers at the time of reservation. However, at no time does the accommodation guarantee to fulfill these requests unless they have been confirmed in writing.

Can I request an earlier check-in or later check-out?

The official check-in is from 16:00 onwards on your day of arrival, check-out is requested by 10:00 on your day of departure.

The only way an early check-in or late check-out can be guaranteed is by booking an additional night's stay, either the previous or following night.

If this is not possible, you can ask to leave your luggage upon arrival and this is from 11:30 onwards at the villa until it has been cleaned and prepared for you.

The same applies on your departure day, if you have a late flight, again you can ask to leave your luggage at the villa until your departure.

An early check-in or late check-out is only possible at no extra cost, if the villa does not have guests on either the previous or following nights.

Meeting and Greeting

Once the payment of the deposit has been received by the owner, you will be informed where to meet the villa owners upon arrival.

When you meet you will be taken to the villa where you will be:

  • Given the key to the villa
  • Given driving instructions or a map to find the villa (all villas are located on our google maps so you can see where they are).
  • Asked to pay the deposit for breakages together with the remaining balance, both in cash.
  • Given any further instructions about the villa.

You are renting direct from the owner. Spotlight is merely providing the booking service.

Deposit for breakages

You will be asked to pay a refundable deposit for breakages when you arrive and meet the owner. The amount varies per villa and will be confirmed when you make your booking. This deposit should be paid in cash. In most cases the breakage deposit can be paid in your own currency in order to avoid additional exchange rate expenses.

If the villa is left as it was on the day of arrival, then the owner will return the full amount either on your departure or at the latest within 7 days of your departure. In case of damage or extra cleaning, then the owner may deduct any costs incurred from the breakage deposit.

Please leave your bank account details with the owner so that he can transfer the breakage deposit back to you.

Whom do I contact in an emergency when I am in the villa?

When you arrive the owner will give you his/her telephone number which you can call should you have any problems in the villa.

Will I need to hire a car?

We highly recommend you hire a car as public transport doesn't reach all parts of the island and is often restricted and taxis can be difficult to get hold of in high season.

Electricity and water

Electricity and water are included in the rental price. Please help us to save energy and help the environment by turning off the air-conditioning and other electrical appliance when you leave the house or they are not in use.

Water is a precious resource. Please use it wisely at all times.

Internet Connection

If the villa you have booked advertises to have Wi-Fi, please be aware that the owners cannot guarantee the strength or availability of the signal.

Parties & Music

The villas are for the number of people specified. If you wish to invite someone, then you will need confirmation from the owner in advance.

Music has to be kept at a reasonable level at all times so as not to disturb the neighbours and must be turned off by midnight.

Modifications of these Conditions

Ibiza Spotlight reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which this Web site is offered. This right shall not effect the existing terms and conditions accepted by you upon making a legitimate reservation or purchase using this Web site.
