Everything in general was very good. If I was to make a comeback to Ibiza, I will definitely chose to stay in Hotel Simbad.

The modern and sophisticated decor would not be out of place in a top London Hotel. We were really impressed by the spa pool and gym areas - they are perfect for winding down the day after a night on the town. Other things that we loved: the lighting - really cool both in the indoor and outdoor areas, the view, the outdoor seating (perfect at sunset) and the bathrooms in the room are a good size. But a couple of disappointments: its much further from Ibiza town than the website suggests (2km? Well, maybe as the crow flies - it took us over an hour to walk there and 10 euros in a cab each time) but there again its a peaceful haven away from the busy town. Oh, and dont bother with the food except at breakfast. Altogether I would say absolutely amazing value for money, the quality of the hotel felt like we should have been paying twice as much. Highly recommended.

We were very impressed with our stay at Hotel Simbad at Talamanca. The hotel is clean and bright, the facilities are very good and the price is excellent for a 4 star hotel. We enjoyed the food, and the views from the sea-facing rooms are truly spectacular. The hotel organised a car for us, and kept the bar open till quite late as we decided against going out.
I strongly recommend the Hotel Simbad for anyone traveling to Ibiza - a beautifully relaxed and comfortable stay, and a great location.

close from pacha and divino, 20 minutes walking from dalt villa, firts half of the walk close to the beach is very cool, second half going forward by the "marina botafoch and puerto neighborood a bit long, for it s not the prettyest avenue in town! with a beautifull seaview. The place is quiet, compared to playa den bossa; the beach is nicer too. Good chill out music at the bar, didn t see the show by night cos i was sick ( it wasnt for the food since i didnt eat in the hotel! lol)
15 euros by cab from the airport

We were pleasantly surprised about our stay at the Simbad. The website does not do the hotel justice. Extensive renovations had been completed on the hotel in the spring of 2007, elevating it to a four star hotel. The bar and lounge area are very trendy in both design and furnishings. The outdoor patio has a nice view. The bedroom left something to be desired though. Although clean, the beds are a boxspring only, which were hard and uncomfortable. The food was good. We only had breakfast, which we were very happy with . They will prepare you a fresh omelette, or eggs any way you like, and there was a fair amount of variety. There are several great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so I would pass on the full meal plan. The pool is small, but clean and there are shade umbrella's if you can't tolerate the sun. The public beach is very nice and is within an easy walking distance. There is an incredible hydrotherapy pool in the gym area, as well as a dry sauna and hot tub. The gym equipment is brand new and first class. Simbad is close to everything and has a market across the street. Overall a very pleasant experience, the staff was friendly, and excluding the beds, is worth the four stars.Toronto, Canada

Having visited the Island now for 8 years, this is probably the best place that we have stayed. The hotel has been completely refurbished, is close to Ibiza town and provides easy access to the main places to visit on the Island, it also offers great views of the bay. Only down side....being a non-smoker and being put in a smoking room!!

Really enjoyed my stay , everyone really helpful and its a really good alternative to some of the really expensive trendy hotels on the island. Its clean , quite chilled and the re-furb has definately made a real difference. The only critisism I have for what is now claiming to be a 4 star hotel is not having a mini bar in the room. It is a bit annoying especially when the bar closes and whilst they are happy for you to put your own drinks in the fridge not having any ice machines is a niggle as the bar refused to supply ice for the room. Small point but if you are claiming 4 star status you need 4 star trimmings. That said I would certainly stay there again if they listened to the feedback and acted upon it.

A great place to stay in a quiet corner of a lovely bay, but close enough to all the noise and action

As has been said, the recent upgrading is not reflected in the site images so I was delighted to be greeted with such a stylish hotel upon arrival. rnrnI asked for a top floor, seaview room which I got and couldn't have been happier with. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and the breakfast buffet was great. Extremely helpful, friendly staff and I also booked the car hire through the hotel. The bar also does some tasty and very reasonably priced cocktails!rnrnTalamanca is a lovely resort and a lot more chilled than the likes of Playa d'en Bossa so you can actually get plenty of sleep. Ended up getting a lot of taxis but they always arrived promptly when ordered at reception.rnrnWould recommend to anyone.

My Friend and I stayed at the Simbad Hotel from 14th to 21st July 2007.rnThe Hotel is stunning, exceptionally clean and what I would describe as a boutique hotel. The staff where all so friendly and most helpful. I cannot praise Angel the Barman enough for bringing us fabulous Sangria made with Champagne every afternoon...give this man a promotion!!rnThe location is great and very quiet at night. The Breakfast Buffet & the Cooks Omellettes are fabulous.rnWould Highly recommend to anyone who needs a quiet break in fantastic surroundings and just a 5 minute journey from Ibiza Town!!

I wouldnt class the Simbad as 3 stars I would personally class it as 4.5. Ok recently it was upgraded to 4 but the minimalist reception, sliding powered glass toilet doors etc gave it a real luxurious feel.rnrnThe name Simbad is very unfortunate though as it sounds like a typical package-Spanish hotel. Thats one thing I would change and the photos I found on the web were old and dont do the interior or the hotel justice at all. rnrnAround the pool I heard the only other English couple mention the samething that I felt, they said 'wow this was a find'!rnrnThe other guests were all German or Spanish and tended to be couples of all ages (no children). rnrnThe only downside was the Mosquito in my room that bit me!

We were very impressed by the quality of this hotel, it far exceeded our expectations. Recently refurbished to a very high standard, the facilities in our room (and the hotel in general) were excellent. The bar area in particular was very impressive, as was the dining room. The food was varied and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is ideal if you want to relax in peace through the day and visit Ibiza town at night, although I would recommend that you request a sea view where possible as the views over the sea are stunning. We certainly intend to stay there the next time we visit Ibiza and have recommended it to all our friends.
