A clean, Spanish style hotel, relativly well located.
However the star rating needs to reviewed as the rooms are very dated, room service limited and leisure facilities are very limited.
Therefore the cost of the hotel in my opinion is excessive and doesn't really offer good value for money.

room walls very thin indeed so difficult to sleep if you have anyone speaking in adjoining room. Not in a great part of town

This visit (10 days in June 2006)was my fourth stay at the Royal Plaza Hotel in recent years, so you can imagine that I enjoy staying there.
Th hotel is ideally situated near the centre of Ibiza town, which is reachable within a 5 minute walk. Yet the hotel is in a quiet residential part of the city (and importantly - is far away from the airport flight path!!).
It is within 15 minutes walking of Pacha; 10 minutes to Dalt Villa and 5 minutes to the nearest taxi rank.
The roof-top swimming pool is excellently clean and the poolside menu is full of great choice of meals.
Rooms are very clean with proper easy controlled air conditioning (sometimes too cold).
Moreover, every taxi driver knows where the Royal Plaza is, so you don't have to explpain with pix or maps how to get there.
There are good supermarkets within a short wwalk of the hotel, so filling up the fridge with wine, water, juice and beer is an easy task.
The hotel's buffet breakfast is absolutely wonderful and sets you up for the whole day (or at least until tapas time!)
And the front desk and housekeeping staff are very friendly and will help out any difficulties you may have.
Because the Royal Plaza is at the upper end of the hotel categories, there are not many kids running around, nor any of the drunken lager louts associated with parts of Ibiza.
For me there is no place better to stay than at the Royal Plaza!! ;-)
