We stayed in the Roca for 4 nights in Mid August - peak season but this hotel was still very cheap.
The staff were extremely friendly and always available and smiling. The cleaners were also friendly and were available to clean the room every day including Sunday.
We had a great time there, the location is perfect with a small supermarket over the road which was perfect for essentials. Although there is a slightly cheaper supermarket up the hill, to the left and past Subway on the right hand side.
While the facilities were pretty non-existent, this wasn't what we booked the hotel for, so we can't complain.
I would recommend the Roca for anyone looking for a room to stay in in San Antonio, but only if you want all your meals out and don't intend to spend much time in the room.

Wasn't expecting a palace but was pleased with what we got considering the price we paid. Air con and a safe at no extra cost were an unexpected bonus. No pool due to its location. The little market street its located on is nice and surprisingly quiet considering your the next street over is the west end. New towels and bed change every day and friendly staff.
Basic accommodation but great if all your using it for is to get your head down for a few hours.

We've just got back from an eight day stay at Roca Hostel and we absolutely loved it! At firt we were a little bit unimpressed with the rooms and bathroom but as the week went on we realised that it was actually perfect and exactly what we needed. The rooms get cleaned everyday/every other day and the reception staff are so friendly and the desk is open 24 hours so you can come and go as you please even if its 7 in the morning! Bearing in mind the amount that we paid i think we got a really good deal and the hostel is in the best location - one street away from the main strip - the west end and 5 minutes from the beach. Can't wait to go back next year.

I spend in Roca Hostel 1 week. It was the cheapest one at the time. Good location in San Antonio town- close to shops, restaurants, 5min walk to sandy beach. Not really quiet at night, but usually you are out for the night anyway ;)
I was nice supprised with the room service - cleaner was in my room everyday with fresh towel. Nice.
I'll recomend this hostel for cheap stay in Ibiza.

I stayed in Hostal Roca with two of my girl mates 30th July-6th August 2010 we had a triple room and it was very clean, it's the best (& cheapest) accommodation I've had in San Antonio this summer & I've been to Ibiza 3 times this summer staying in San Ant all 3 times. A safety deposit box and A/C were included in the price of our room which was fantastic value for money. clean towels were provided every day if you let them clean your room you can put a do not disturb sign on your door and they don't knock your door. we were right next to the west end but we couldn't hear the music in our room at all. the room was spacious and clean we felt very safe and secure they don't let non-guests go past reception at night, the only issue was no lift but that didn't really bother us even though were on the 4th floor. I have given them 5 out of 10 for facilities because being a "hostal" they had no pool or cafe & the internet was very expensive- 1euro per fifteen minutes. But if you want a clean safe spacious room to sleep and get ready in it's perfect also we only had one plug socket so we had to take it in turns with the GHD's and blow dryer but being such good friends that didn't bother us at all.

Yeah, cannot say anything wrong about Roca Hostel. You get what you pay for people say and Roca Hostel is no different. It's probably the cheapest accommodation on the Island and I was a bit skeptical at first but as soon as checked in I was pleased with my choice. I booked a double room for myself so the room was spacious enough, clean with working AC and free of charge safe in a drawer. rooms are cleaned everyday, probably when you still asleep so don't forget to put 'do not disturb' on the door knob lol You're in the middle of west-end but street away from bars and clubs so it's also quiet. Opposite hostel there's an off license with cheap booze and ice and all you need to warm out before partying!
In general, 100% worthy!

We booked Hostel Roca at the last minute, and booked 5 nights stay. It doesn't offer you luxury but it is clean, very central and the room we had, had air-con and was very quiet. Didn't want or need anything else. The guys on reception were helpful and as it's manned 24hrs it was safe to come back in the early morning. I would definitely book a room here again (if they'll have us!) and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap, clean place to crash in the middle of San Antonio!

when looking for a hotel for my 5 day session i basically looked for a balance between price and location. this was the cheapest hotel and had the best location for what i wanted this time round. it is right in the middle of town but on a quiet street so i a quick 1 minute walk to the taxi rank by the fountains. 5mins to sunset strip. the hotel itself is basic but is what you need is all you want is a bed and a shower. would recommend this to anyone wanting good value for money and a secure place for you stuff :)

Hostel Roca was just perfect. Smack bang in the centre of San An, walking distance to all restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. The hostel was clean and safe. Check in and check out were both hassle free, and the room was Air Conditioned.
Very reasonably priced also - €60 a night for a 3 bed room!!
All good!

Return to Roca for 9 nights and had a even better stay then last year. The staff is very nice and helpful. We like the fact that there is always someone at the front desk 24/7, it make us feel very safe. The price is unbeatable for what you get. Good working A/C, a safe, fresh tower daily. We like the fact that it is in a middle of town but at the edge of the noisy West-End. 3 minutes walk to the Bus station, close to mini mart, coffee shops, Shopping and 10 minutes walk Sunset bars is also great. There is no WIFI, but 2 computer stations in the lobby for 1 euro and you can also print your boarding pass from it for a small fee.

Great location in San Antonio, close to West End, but a couple of streets away from the centre, so is fairly quiet. Close to taxi rank and bus station. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the place is spotless. With reception being manned 24 hours you feel secure aswell, especially if unnaccompanied.

We spend 9 good days at the Roca Hostel in early September. The check-in process was friendly & fast. We got room 202 which was a good room, the window look out the street. The room was very basic, but suited our need perfectly. The room was very clean, the A/C work good and there was a safe in the room. Everything was at walking distance. The walls and door are very thin so there were some noisy moment, especially when the maid was clean rooms next or above ours. I would suggest bringing ear plugs. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful. I was able to pay with credit which was a plus. www.ibiza-spotlight.com booking was extremely good, I booked the wrong room size at first and they refunded me the depot difference without any problem.

This hotel was fantastic. Located right in the main central area of San Antonio and only a stone throw away from the restaurants makes this hotel a very good choice.
I have to say the best part about this hotel is the quality service. Their staff were always very helpful and friendly.
There is no pool but that shouldn't deter anyone because who wants to be at a pool when the ibiza beaches are sooo amazing. So if you are looking for value for money and a friendly face I recommend this hotel!

Stayed for 2 nights in August. Rooms were basic decoration quite drab and air con did work (just). You get towels in the bathroom. Warm water yes and shower does the job. Bath tub a little on the small side. Generally a clean hostel. Man at the desk fairly friendly internet available at 15mins for 1euro. Location is close to the bars in San antonio which makes it quite loud at night and early morning. Next time i would stay further away from the bars it seemed nicer further up the hill.

I cannot really mark down the roca hostel at all!
It is not 5* obviously but i am absolutely delighted with my stay there.
The rooms were clean and tidy and absolutely perfect for what i wanted. Close to everything; a very short walk to taxi rank, the strip and to Bar M etc.
The rooms were spacious for what they were and surprisingly very quiet for its location! I had undisturbed sleep every night!
The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and even though i was there for only 4 days, the maid came everyday with fresh towels and to tidy if we wished.
I would absolutely stay there again on my return to Ibiza. I was alone a couple of nights and felt completely safe at all times and security was good.
I would also like to thank the staff there as i managed to leave some things in the room including my MP3 player and they saved it and promptly returned it to me!
A great value for money place, absolutely fab for the price and location, will most definately be staying there again! Many Thanks!

Stayed at the Roca for 4 nights in July, no problems what so ever, only a street away from the west end but hardly any noise for when you finally decided to sleep! Rooms were cleaned every day, only problem being the maids were up banging early in the morning so not the best sound in the world if you have only been in an hour or so! If you are looking for a clean, tidy room then the Roca is the place to go!

we stayed in roca for a week in july 09 and couldn't have chosen a better location.its on a street which is very quiet at night and bustling with stalls during the day.just round the corner from the west end and probably the best pub in san antonio-The Highlander!
the rooms are basic-bed,wardrobe,safe,air con. the bathroom has bath with showerhead, sink, bidet and toilet.no views from the room(ours was facing a concrete wall)and two computers downstairs for internet access.try to get on the lower floors-no elevator!
the staff at reception were lovely, helpful if you needed them but didn't bother u otherwise.
cleaners came early every day except sunday but considering we'd usually jus got in,they'd just pass in clean towels and leave everythin else till it suited us!
lots of restaurants less than two minute walk away and da beach bout 5 mins away.plenty of shops nearby but remember tobacco shops close at weekend!!
we paid 145 euro each at peak season and it was worth every cent!considering its 18 euro for a vodka in amnesia,120 euro for a litre bottle vodka and 10 mixers in privilege and 45-50 euro each into each club it was a very good price for accomadation!!
one last thng-if its a quiet holiday your after dont stay here and ruin it for others:-)!this place is perfect for those wanting a week long party..
we will definetly be returning to the roca next yr!!

We had a good holiday, when we got to the hostel it was all that we were expecting a good room with 3 beds and a bathroom, the bed was nice and comfortable and the room was clean, every couple of days a cleaning lady cleans the room and puts fresh towels and sheets, the people at the reception are friendly and helpfull, overall the room was tip top, we only needed it for sleep and to keep our bags as we spend most of the day on the beach and clubs, there's a safe as well which comes in handy to keep your passports and valuable stuff in, hope this helps.

its good that the hotel has air conditioning and safes included in the cost, but the cleaner comes too early so she hardly ever cleans the rooms.
hotel staff were friendly and ok, but didnt really need them for much so i cant give a great review of them.
24 hour security is good, but no balcony or pool :-(
loaction is brillant for access to the west end for nights out but a bit too close for going to sleep i think.
overall: not bad for the money, but i dont think i would go back

Given how cheap this hostel was and the location we were expecting the worst. Despite staying there in July the hostel wasn't noisy, was very clean and surprisingly welcoming. The rooms were basic but exactly what you need for a stay in Ibiza if you are going out at night. The only issue was that the shower was more of a tinkle than a jet, but it still did the job. In terms of the area it is off the main drag of the West End, and the street it is located on proved to be nice and quiet.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in September for 1 week. The hostel is on a quiet street, and just one minute walk from the Westend. It was great value for money and the place was really clean, which is one of the most important things and the air-con worked fine.
Our room was on the 1st floor but this was a bit noisy....we didnt sleep the first night because of other ppl shouting, dragging luggage past our room and the cleaners walking round and moving furniture from the 2nd floor. The cleaners came everyday to change the towels and clean, sometimes not too good if out the night before! But there was no noise from parties or loud music - essential when you do want to get some sleep!
Would def. stay here again, but on a higher floor!

well stayed at the roca for 5 days in sept 08, needed some where cheap and cheerfull as it was a suprize visit to my daughter to spend her 21st birthday with her, I have visited beefa many times b4 so knew of the roca but never stayed there b4, the owners were lovly people and the rooms were simple and clean, the room was situated at the top of the first stairs on the 1st floor and these stairs fed all 4 floors which after our 1st night there we realised was a nightmare as all through traffic passed our wall, which allso backed onto a small lounge area........so all the clubbers, party people,in fact all occupants would stamp up the stairs drunk and arguing at all hours so we managed 4 hours sleep over the 5 night stay. We thought great 1st floor room on checking in as there was no lift but yawn.......It was a very tiring experience, but nothing to do with the place or the owners just the people staying being inconsiderate drunk and argumentative..........On our last day there my daughter had to get out of her room by 11am so I asked if she and her BF could come to our room for the day and dump there cases and wash etc, and the owners said not a problem which was very sweet of them so I brought them a bottle of a spanish liqure as a thankyou. I would recomend Roca but not that room.

Roca was great...Our room was very basic but was very clean and great for the price...Its also on a street that's much quieter than the rest so if you do decide to get some rest you wont be disturbed by people partying throughout the night. The A/C needs to be switched off everytime you leave the room so it tends to get a bit warm but like I said its great for the price.

Price / service ratio is amazing. Very friendly staff, air-conditioning, private bathroom, towels change etc.

Ideal location - arrived at Roca 10:00pm - was in the West End by 10:10pm having our first sesh in Ibiza - ideal for short breaks and those happy enough not to have a pool - the beach is 2 mins away anyway. For £28 per night was perfect and even value for money. No noise at all and surrounded by the best looking women in Ibiza with the Pacha shop next door. Would def go again in 2009.

Where do I begin?
I come to Ibiza every other year and I knew exactly what I wanted this time. I wanted to be in the west end, in a room with air conditioning, 4 walls and a roof. It felt more like a dorm room in college but it was a great deal and we really liked it. We saved sooooo much money than staying at our regular place. The only issues we had were the following: no TV in the room, the cleaning lady knocking loud and just coming in, the intense bleach smell after the room is cleaned, and no elevators (lifts). Other than that, it was perfect for its location and price. The usual place we stayed at was 300 euro a night, I booked the Roca in advanced, so it was 66 euro a night... what a fuckin deal! If all the hotels in Ibiza would ease up on the bringing girls back to the room late night issues they have, we would all live better lives!

The room serviced it purpose as far as a bed to sleep in and a shower( which was not always hot). The air was nice to have too. I was surprised they supplied us with towels. All in all it was an okay place to stay, once we located it. I wish I had known it was a street over from the KFC then it would had been super easy to find. A lot of places to eat right at the end of the street.
My friends and I had a nice stay. Only thing that really sucked was around check-out time EVERY morning you could hear people Dragging their bag down the stairs. It was so load.

It serves a purpose, they cleaned our room twice and we had dirty towels for a good few days.
There was a variety of staff on reception. most were ok and didn't really say much. There was one guy that worked the night shift who clearly weren't a happy chappy and decided to take that out on anyone that crossed him.
Our door was damaged, which was easily repairable and even if it was replaced the door was no more than £30... but they decided to charge €150 for the damage.
So conclusion is, a great place to stay as it is right in the middle of everying and has everything you need for a very cheap price, it can be loud but you're not staying in the centre of San Antonio for peace and quiet. But advise is, get the cleaners in and try not to damage anything as they do indeed rip you off.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Roca hostel, can't complain about a thing. Great location and very friendly staff. Night time in the hostel can sometimes be noisey but who comes to Ibiza to sleep anyways!!!Defo recommend to anyone to stay at Roca!

Very good hotel as well as very cheap. Situated right in the middle of San Antonio's life, perfect for English people going to nextdoor bars and pubs. It's a bit noisy during the night but if like us you come back at 7 or 8 in the morning you'll only be disturbed by the cleaning lady who won't mind cleaning your room while you're sleeping. Another good point is that there's a private electronic safe in the room, in case you have important stuff to hide. What else; friendly staff, you can access internet in the hotel, there is air conditionning in the rooms and.. that's all. Very pleasant stay, will probably go back.

The roca is a great budget hotel one block over from the west end.
The staff are nice and the rooms got cleaned everyday except for sunday which was fine.
The only downside was there wasnt a fridge in the room but that is the only thing I can think of to fault the place.

Well, i was amazed about the price of the hostel. It is very central (St. Antonio0 and you have access to the beach by only 5 min. walk. For that its quite cheap. furthermore, the stuff is very kind and always open for a chat ;)
Guys if you go to Ibiza for Party, please imagine how the natives are feeling and try to behave a bit more social to the people and also to the environment! This is what I got through the talks with the natives and also the stuff. The Island is not there to be wasted by you but to please you and if something is pleasing you you also should try to give something back or at least not to destroy it completely.
On this note, have a nice time on Ibiza and enjoy the parties and the good accommodation at the Roca Hostel!Cheers

Cute family hotel, everytime cool even if the air conditioned is off, a little bit noisy( but you don't come to Ibiza to sleep !!).
The staff is friendly, the cleanliness is excellent (everyday except on sunday.
The situation is perfect, in the center of the city, this hotel is next to all the bars, pre party, 7 minutes from the san antonio bay, 3 minutes from the Eden or Es paradise ...

Hostel was very nice, rooms were really ok for this price. People in the reception = great!Unfortunately English people who also lived there were not good neighbours... People - why are you so loud at the middle of the night? You are not alone in the hotel, others would like to get some sleep!
Claning service was ok at the beggining but closer to the end it was gettin' worse (they forot to clean WC or shower..).
I still recomend the hostel but if you want to get some rest by night - here you will not.

Only 30 seconds off the West End but you don't hear noise from there when you do require sleep.
The rooms and hotel is basic (no pool, tv's, bar/restaurant, lift etc. here) but you get a free electronic safe and free air conditioning. Internet is available with 2 computers located within reception at 1 Euro for each 15 minutes.
The hotel is clean and you can get clean towels with cleaners coming every day (at around 10am, which was too early for me)
I can't really give anything for food as there isn't a restaurant in the hotel but there are plenty of great restaurants, takeaways, supermarkets only a short walk away.

Nice budget hostal, really close to the center.
cheap and affordable for everyone. We arrive around 10.30 and there was free room at that time
and we entered straight in without waiting for
the normal 14.00 hour of accomodation.Air condition inside.Only the water pressure in the
shower is too slow but anyway there is hot water.
Definately we'll stay there next time. :-)

We chose Hostel Roca as it was so cheap but then worried we might have booked a complete dive of a hotel but how wrong were we! The room was basic but had everything you needed in terms of clean bedding, bathroom (bath and shower!)and even air conditioning which was bliss! What more could you ask for for £24 a night for a twin room (which actually had 3 beds in)- Bargain! Would definately return as it was only 5 mins from the main bars yet not noisey when you needed to sleep. This review is coming from someone who would never normally book anything below at least 3 stars so you can be safe in knowing you won't be disappointed. If I could have requested one thing, it would have been to have a balcony or large window just to look out of but this certainly wouldn't stop me booking this hotel again. Staff also very pleasant and accommodating when we requested an additional friend to stay for 2 nights.

Great value for money hostel. Its called a hostel but its more like a 2 star hotel for the hostel price. Private rooms, ensuite, in-room electronic safes, twins and double options. Unbelievable San Antonio location. Lovely owners. Would stay again without any hesitation.
Thank you.

Given that this is a "Hostal" or Guest House and almost the cheapest accommodation on the whole island of Ibiza it is describes as "great value for money" by virtually all those who stay there, you only have to check over the other reviews sent in.
