The place is great, staff is friendly, everything very clean and tidy. The only negative point is that it is located in San Antoni, however the hostel is 5min walking from the bus station, from where u can go to almost anywhere in the island. If u are a backpacker like me, i do recommend staying in the single room, i think it is one of the cheapest options in Ibiza.

The best thing about the room was you got a fridge ! My other mates in a different hotel had air conditioning but no fridge, yet I found the fan provided was sufficient and I did not have to pay extra for it either : )

My wife (29) and I (30) stayed at the hotel from Aug 4 - Aug 11 2010. Everything about the place was perfect. The rooms were quiet and the ladies came to clean the rooms everyday around noon. There was a nice breakfast included with the room as well, if you were up by 1030. No AirCon, but that was not a problem as I am used to humid caribean heat living in Puerto Rico. That said, most people would be confortable with the shades drawn and the fan on. You are also free to use the pool at the sister hotel (3 min walk).

For some travelers one drawback is the distance to the SanAn waterfront, west-end, sunset bars etc (15-20 min walk). However, I had stayed right on the waterfront before (right above where Plastik is now) and was miserable from the noise. Hostal Montana is tucked away in the local residential neighborhood, and I was able party at night and recover sleeping-in as long as I needed. The girl that worked the front desk was amazing, she was full of advice about what to do, where to eat, etc.

This is 3rd trip to Ibiza and the only hotel that I would attempt a repeat stay. I give the hotel 9/10 overall.

Was staying here for a week in August - It was just fantastic!!! Thanks a lot for Mario and his sister who are running the place - they gave a lot of good guidance about ibiza and san antonio, directed me to a couple of really breathtaking places - overall - just an awesome place to stay - clean, close to centre, but also far enough to have that 4hr sleep from 6am to 10am in the morning :))))

I was staying at the Montana Hostel for a short period in July 2010.
I was very surprised at the standard of the hostel, it was more like a hotel rather than a cheap hostel! It was clean and the staff were very friendly, I felt Welcome and ready to enjoy my break. The cleaners were also respectful and friendly.
I had booked a small single room but it was very well catered for with a bath and a shower, clean towels, etc and even a fridge where I could store my snacks and drinks. The storage was large and bed clean.
Food - I partied so much I never made it up in time for breakfast but the bar/eating area looked really nice and clean and the people seemed to be enjoying it when I stumbled in for bed at 'Crazy' O'clock! ;-)
Oh, also there is a terrace and a large seating area out the back which is also a bonus!
If I had to pick a down point it would be the 'No air-con' in my room but I did have a fan by the bed. It was maybe just because it was a single room and it WAS only 25.00e per night, but that was the only thing, because it was so bloody hot in July, It would have been more comfortable.

Other than that, I thought the hostel was really great and it wasn't that far from the centre.
Thanks Montana hostel for a great stay and I'm sure to be going back! :-)
