This was our first stay in Ibiza so I was not too sure what to expect from the hotels - especially in San Antonio..but was pleasantly surprised by the Gran Sol hotel!

Friendly staff, good buffet style meals, reasonably priced drinks and cozy rooms with great views & air con!

The hotel is located a short walk from all the buzzing night life, bars and the sea, but detached enough for those poeple looking to just relax and enjoy hotel amenities (the pool was great and there is a private sun bathing area).

The only thing I would have liked, is WIFI internet to be available in the rooms. There is reception in the hotel lobby, but it would have been great to have in the rooms themselves.

Overall, the hotel exceeded my expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - would recommend Gran Sol to my friends!

Having stayed in calo de moro several times our stay at the gran sol was very enjoyable. The rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need, air con, fridge, t.v, hairdryer. The staff are effecient and friendly and always willing to help.
The food is good and there is a varied choice for breaksfast.
The pool area is clean and relaxed.
Thanks Ibiza Spotlight for the ease of booking and a stress free holiday from arriving at the airport until leaving.

this year was my second stay at Gran Sol. Great location for Sunset Strip, but the right side of town to be away from the west end crowd.

Rooms are clean, bathroom decent working air-con. Not many hotels in San An can rival the Gran Sol for quality and value for money.

This is the third year we have stayed at the Gran Sol Hotel for a long weekend in Ibiza. The hotel represents great value for money and we think the location is perfect. Being in our late 20's now, we still want to go out clubbing but we also like to have a few chill out days away from any noisy lager louts! The hotel is in easy walking distance to the sunset bars and west end strip but also far away enough that you have some peace and quiet when needed (especially if you want to sleep all day!)

We have only used the bar and pool area once or twice in the few years we have stayed here because we usually go to the beach but when we have been down there, the pool area was nice & clean with plenty of sun loungers and the bar was reasonably priced with a good selection of drinks and ice creams. The reception staff were helpful and spoke good english, they also offered to book us taxis when needed etc. The rooms are clean and basic but have everything you need; a fridge, balcony, safe and ensuite bathroom. The room and bathroom is always clean and tidy with good maid service. Also, you can usually get parked for free around the hotel which is a bonus and there are a couple of shops and cafes nearby.

I have stayed at the Gran Sol for several years now and always come back. The hotel is clean, well situated and reasonably priced. It has good facilities and tries to improve each year. My only personal gripe is, they only have bacon on alternate days for breakfast , other than that, very good.

Excellent hotel - great location for sunset strip in a quieter part of San Antonio

This was my 4th stay at the Gran Sol. I also have quite a few friends who have stayed there and recommend it. It is excellent for a 2 star. The location is great, just up the road Kanya and the sunset strip, great facilities, with helpful and friendly staff. We had a large room for the 3 of us with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was airconditioned with a small safe for money, passports and valuables, plus a small fridge where we could keep water etc. The bar has a homely, friendly atmosphere and the bar staff make great cocktails. Some of the staff even drink there when off duty. Getting a taxi couldn't be easier - just ask reception and a taxi arrives within minutes. The only criticism I had was that there are not enough power sockets in the room for 3 girls getting ready to go out - we had rollers and hair straighteners that we wanted to use but couldn't do this while charging our mobiles and cameras as there were not enough sockets to go around - a couple near the full length mirror would have made such a difference. Still, that wouldn't stop me from returning next year as it's a great hotel.

I am almost tempted NOT to review this hotel as I want to keep it all to myself!. A great hotel located close to the sunset bars and a short stroll to the West end, quiet, secure and with everything you might need.Rooms have aircon and this year fridges are free as are complimentary soap & shower gel (one less thing to pack). I am coming back! (again).

This really is a great value hotel. With the exchange rate at the time it worked out to be approx. £35 per night. For this amount of money it is a fantastic hotel, really modern clean with great facilities (for a £35/night hotel apart from the horrible fabric covers on the chairs in the lobby (every hotel has those though)

Seriously recommended.

As you can see I have rated the Gran Sol very highly. I have stayed there 5 times now. I have no complaints that is why I continue to come back. I have recommended it to friends and they cannot praise it enough. Perfect location for chill out bars, 10 minute walk to the west end. Nice peaceful hotel, if you are looking for 18-30's style then Gran Sol is not for you. Should be rated more than 2 star. Excellent! See you next year!

My first stay at this hotel, and was impressed! Friends of mine have stayed here many times before and it certainly lived up to expectation, that's why I rated 10 for everything, I couldn't find fault with anything! The cost per night is really reasonable, the staffs are professional and friendly, and also the wonderful bar guys are attentive, offer great bar service and make a mean jug of Sangria!! :-)
The hotel, rooms, pool, bar area etc are meticulously clean and tidy. The hotel is also in a great position, you’re far enough not to be part of action, but near enough to walk there in 15 mins and be in the main drag with lots of bars and restaurants if that's what you’re looking for! We found great traditional Spanish restaurants away from the main area in San Antonio and found the food to be excellent!
The chill out bars are a lovely 10 min walk from the hotel along the sea front and it's a must to take time out one evening to sit, have a drink and watch the beautiful sunset.
Will I stay here again? Yes! Already have plans to go again next year! But ssshhhhh, don't tell everyone how good this hotel is or we won't be able to get rooms booked in the future! :-)

My wife and I have stayed at the Gran Sol on four occasions over the past five years. The hotel is excellently situated just behind the Coastline and Kanya side of the sunset strip and only a short walk to Mambo and Café del mar. The hotel itself is a little 1970’s in appearance from the outside (and the bar/restaurant) but the recently refurbished rooms are comfortable, clean and have a TV and fridge. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful (you can order a taxi from the reception so no need to queue at the bottom of the west end!). The hotel itself has a mix of nationalities and ages (including families) so is quite strict when it comes to noise – which is great if you want to use your room as somewhere to rest rather than to party. The restaurant is ok – well worth the extra few euros for breakfast if you are up in time!

The star rating of the hotel probably underestimates the rooms/facilities – if you want a well run hotel in a good location (free from the 18-30 crowd) then the Gran Sol comes well recommended!

We have stayed at Gran Sol on a number of occasions over the past five years. Although a little 70’s in appearance in the bar & restaurant – the rooms (refurbished around 2005 to include air conditioning) are comfortable, clean, include a TV and fridge (3 euro per day) with most having sea views. Staff are friendly and helpful and you find a real mix of people including young, old, all nationalities and families. The hotel has a fairly strict on noise – so if you want to party in your room I would go somewhere else – but for the rest of us who like to party at Space and Pacha and get our heads down at the hotel this place is a welcome oasis of calm! The hotel is situated in easy distance of the sunset bars (Mambo, Café Del Mar, Kanya, Coastline etc). The restaurant is basic, but for the price B&B is well worth it if you feel you will be up in time to make the 10.30am finish! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel, it is clean, fairly modern and certainly value for money. I would also recommend requesting a seaview.

It is in an ideal location if you are looking for a relatively quiet area of San Antonio Bay.

The hotel is situated minutes away from the sunset strip and also within easy reach of the west end.

The reception staff were particularly helpful with their local knowledge, and also by providing us with facilities on our check out.

This is far better than a 2 star hotel. It's a 3+ star at 2 star prices. VERY clean...nice staff....and just what you need w/ no frills. My wife and I have been there twice and it was gerat both times!! It's a little old school w/ the look and feel but the price is great, so is the location(next to the sunset strip and beach), and the family that runs the place does great work. I'd recommend staying at the Gran Sol to anyone looking to relax (or party) in San Antonio!!

Just like a travel lodge really.Clean, safe and basic.
Its not by any loud bars/clubs so a good nights sleep is obtainable if thats what you want.
In fact if anyone comes in early doors and is making to much noise keeping everyone awake the management will politely tell you to quiten down....quality.

If you are like us and only really use the room for sleeping after a late night and getting ready for the next night out, then this is a perfect hotel. Our third year in a row and will be staying again next year.

I stayed here with 3 friends for a week in July this year - I was a returning visitor after satying here last year as well.
I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone. It is not your typical San An hotel in that it is very calm, laidback and quiet. You can really relax here.
The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the more lively action at the likes of Kanya and Coastline and a 5 minute stroll from the sunset strip.
The hotel is VERY clean and well ordered. The rooms are cleaned every day and new towels are left. The maids do not insist on coming in very early either which is good - especially after a late night's clubbing!!
All of the staff including the maids are polite and courteous. All speak English, however a few words of Spanish to them, even just to say good morning go a long way!!
The main feature which impresses me about the hotel is the security. There is CCTV all over the hotel and 2 security guards at the reception all night which is reassuring. The doors are keycard operated and there are digitally operated safes. This all adds up to an excellent level of security. This is not everyone's first consideration when going on holiday but we had friends who stayed in a less high standard hotel in San An who were robbed and lost a lot of money, ipods etc. This would simply not happen here.
My one gripe is that you have to pay for the use of the mini fridge in the room (3 euros per day) but it comes in very handy for a cold water in the morning

The hotel on first appearance was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was immaculate and cleaned daily, the pool is a little small but there was always enough sunbeds on the grassed area.

The pool was very clean and nice and cold which was refreshing due to the heat.

All in all it is a very good hotel and priced very reasonably.

Highly recommend to people.

This was my third visit to Gran Sol,same freindly staff. They were helpful and courteous at all times. However Ifeel the quality of the food on offer has deteriorated since my last visit[2006]. The gran sol is good value for money if you avoid the high season. The area around the gran sol used to be reasonably quiet, however on my visit I experienced a lot of late night/early morning revellers[wont go again in july] every single night of my holiday,so I don,t think I will be going to San Antonio again. Although don,t let that put you off. For the serious tourist Ibiza has a lot to offer, it is a beautiful island with lots of nice beaches and Ibiza town is well worth visiting.

The Gran Sol Hotel provided myself and four friends with a perfect location for our holiday in Ibiza. 10 minutes walk from Cafe Mambo / sunset bars and 15 mins walk to San Antonio Centre. During the day there is a chilled out atmosphere by the pool. The pool area and size are perfect and was one of the key reasons that we had returned to this hotel for a second year in a row. The hotel staff were very friendly and the bar snacks are really good value for money. Our rooms were cleaned every day and the maids would leave you to sleep and come back later if required. This is the second time I've stayed here and the rooms have all been refurbished since my first stay. Rooms are clean and well proportioned. This is a great hotel and deserves more than its current 2 star status. Good number of sunbeds round the pool area and a great garden for the serious sunbather which I love.
