Fantastic hotel, should be more than 2 star. We went 12th September and really enjoyed very single minute. It's close enough to the West end but not too close so it's not too noisy at night. Night staff could be friendlier!

My wife and I have stayed at the Gran Sol on four occasions over the past five years. The hotel is excellently situated just behind the Coastline and Kanya side of the sunset strip and only a short walk to Mambo and Café del mar. The hotel itself is a little 1970’s in appearance from the outside (and the bar/restaurant) but the recently refurbished rooms are comfortable, clean and have a TV and fridge. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful (you can order a taxi from the reception so no need to queue at the bottom of the west end!). The hotel itself has a mix of nationalities and ages (including families) so is quite strict when it comes to noise – which is great if you want to use your room as somewhere to rest rather than to party. The restaurant is ok – well worth the extra few euros for breakfast if you are up in time!
The star rating of the hotel probably underestimates the rooms/facilities – if you want a well run hotel in a good location (free from the 18-30 crowd) then the Gran Sol comes well recommended!

We have stayed at Gran Sol on a number of occasions over the past five years. Although a little 70’s in appearance in the bar & restaurant – the rooms (refurbished around 2005 to include air conditioning) are comfortable, clean, include a TV and fridge (3 euro per day) with most having sea views. Staff are friendly and helpful and you find a real mix of people including young, old, all nationalities and families. The hotel has a fairly strict on noise – so if you want to party in your room I would go somewhere else – but for the rest of us who like to party at Space and Pacha and get our heads down at the hotel this place is a welcome oasis of calm! The hotel is situated in easy distance of the sunset bars (Mambo, Café Del Mar, Kanya, Coastline etc). The restaurant is basic, but for the price B&B is well worth it if you feel you will be up in time to make the 10.30am finish! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel, it is clean, fairly modern and certainly value for money. I would also recommend requesting a seaview.
It is in an ideal location if you are looking for a relatively quiet area of San Antonio Bay.
The hotel is situated minutes away from the sunset strip and also within easy reach of the west end.
The reception staff were particularly helpful with their local knowledge, and also by providing us with facilities on our check out.

This is far better than a 2 star hotel. It's a 3+ star at 2 star prices. VERY clean...nice staff....and just what you need w/ no frills. My wife and I have been there twice and it was gerat both times!! It's a little old school w/ the look and feel but the price is great, so is the location(next to the sunset strip and beach), and the family that runs the place does great work. I'd recommend staying at the Gran Sol to anyone looking to relax (or party) in San Antonio!!

Great Hotel - perfect location for the Sunset, Mambo's, Cafe del Mar etc etc. Becomes quite expensive in August, but really cheap in June, July and Sept. stayed here every year for the past 4 years and never had a complaint. Just one word of advice. Do not piss off the Night Men!!! You have been warned!!!

We had a wonderful week at the Gran Sol. It is in a great location at a safe enough distance from all the festivities and a short walk from the beach. The staff are really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend the Gran Sol and if I go back to San Antonio the family can certainly rely on our custom.

Just like a travel lodge really.Clean, safe and basic.
Its not by any loud bars/clubs so a good nights sleep is obtainable if thats what you want.
In fact if anyone comes in early doors and is making to much noise keeping everyone awake the management will politely tell you to quiten down....quality.
If you are like us and only really use the room for sleeping after a late night and getting ready for the next night out, then this is a perfect hotel. Our third year in a row and will be staying again next year.

I stayed here with 3 friends for a week in July this year - I was a returning visitor after satying here last year as well.
I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone. It is not your typical San An hotel in that it is very calm, laidback and quiet. You can really relax here.
The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the more lively action at the likes of Kanya and Coastline and a 5 minute stroll from the sunset strip.
The hotel is VERY clean and well ordered. The rooms are cleaned every day and new towels are left. The maids do not insist on coming in very early either which is good - especially after a late night's clubbing!!
All of the staff including the maids are polite and courteous. All speak English, however a few words of Spanish to them, even just to say good morning go a long way!!
The main feature which impresses me about the hotel is the security. There is CCTV all over the hotel and 2 security guards at the reception all night which is reassuring. The doors are keycard operated and there are digitally operated safes. This all adds up to an excellent level of security. This is not everyone's first consideration when going on holiday but we had friends who stayed in a less high standard hotel in San An who were robbed and lost a lot of money, ipods etc. This would simply not happen here.
My one gripe is that you have to pay for the use of the mini fridge in the room (3 euros per day) but it comes in very handy for a cold water in the morning

We were only there for 3 nights and 4 days but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hotel on first appearance was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was immaculate and cleaned daily, the pool is a little small but there was always enough sunbeds on the grassed area.
The pool was very clean and nice and cold which was refreshing due to the heat.
All in all it is a very good hotel and priced very reasonably.
Highly recommend to people.

We had read the reviews on Spotlight Ibiza before we booked and the feedback was spot on. The hotel is fantastic. We had a room on the 6th floor overlooking the bay what a sight, brilliant. Location was ideal, short walk to the sun set strip and harbour. Service was good, poolside bar service was great, just what we needed. We will be back for sure.

This was my third visit to Gran Sol,same freindly staff. They were helpful and courteous at all times. However Ifeel the quality of the food on offer has deteriorated since my last visit[2006]. The gran sol is good value for money if you avoid the high season. The area around the gran sol used to be reasonably quiet, however on my visit I experienced a lot of late night/early morning revellers[wont go again in july] every single night of my holiday,so I don,t think I will be going to San Antonio again. Although don,t let that put you off. For the serious tourist Ibiza has a lot to offer, it is a beautiful island with lots of nice beaches and Ibiza town is well worth visiting.

Really nice hotel, the rooms were great and the maid service was good and everyday. The pool was good enough for a quick dip and the lawn area was nice but could do with a few more sunloungers. Location is brilliant for the sunset bars and a very short walk to San An night life without being stuck right in the thick of it.

The Gran Sol Hotel provided myself and four friends with a perfect location for our holiday in Ibiza. 10 minutes walk from Cafe Mambo / sunset bars and 15 mins walk to San Antonio Centre. During the day there is a chilled out atmosphere by the pool. The pool area and size are perfect and was one of the key reasons that we had returned to this hotel for a second year in a row. The hotel staff were very friendly and the bar snacks are really good value for money. Our rooms were cleaned every day and the maids would leave you to sleep and come back later if required. I would recommend this Hotel to all my friends and family and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

This is the second time I've stayed here and the rooms have all been refurbished since my first stay. Rooms are clean and well proportioned. This is a great hotel and deserves more than its current 2 star status. Good number of sunbeds round the pool area and a great garden for the serious sunbather which I love. Hotel is situated away from the busy clubs/bars but is only a short walk if you want to enjoy the nightlife. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and I'm hoping to stay again next year.

Great place to stay whilst in Ibiza.I went in October, I think it cost me about 21 Euros a night. I got an airconed room with a TV, bathroom, balcony with ocean views and buffet breakfast and dinner included. Fantastic value for money. Food was pretty good too, lots of variety at both meals. Service was great, Cathy and the front desk very helpful. The beach is about 100 metres away and the walk to San Antio is about 10 minutes away, with the bus stop to Ibiza town only 5 min away at end of the street, Cafe Del Mar about 5 mins away on the coastal walk. Good place to go if you want to relax. I am 26 and was after some time out between the clubs, this is not really a wild party hotel, with most of the guests I noticed being retirees. If you stay on Ibiza town side it is closer to all the clubs but double the price and I am sure you will get much less then if you stayed in this hotel. I booked for 2 nights but stayed for a week.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Grand Sol and will definitely go there again. The staff are great, and the hotel is clean and tidy. The rooms had also bee upgraded since last year. The pool area is great too with plent of loungers and room to sunbathe.Location is ideal if you want to visit the sunset bars, and is also only a short walk into San Antonio, about 10 minutes. most rooms have a sea view and it's a two minute walk to the nearest beach.Food was disappointing in the hotel, with not much choice at all if half board so would just go B B in the future, which is excellent.still, didn't put us off at all. and we decided to change from half board to bed and breakfast half way through our stay and this was accommodated with a reduction in the cost.

I travel every year to Ibiza and have stayed this last few years in the gran Sol. I can highly recommend this hotel it should be rated higher than a 2 star. I have also told my friends who also have stayed there and they also were delighted. The owners pepe and Anne were very welcoming the Bar staff and cleaning staff were very friendly as were the night porters. The rooms were excellent and it was great not to have to pay for the safety deposit box. The rooms were cleaned every day. The food was varied and excellent. I could not fault this hotel and will be back to stay next year .

Me and six friends stayed at this hotel for 10 days, and for the money we were all really impressed. The rooms were clean, the furniture was new, all of our rooms had air conditioning and there was even a ceiling fan aswell!! The safe in the room came in handy and was free, the fridge unfortunately you had to pay extra for and wasn't that big so we didnt bother with it. We spent alot of time at the pool bar as the food was really cheap and good, plus the drink measures were generous to say the least! 2 vodkas and you knew about it! The hotel was in a great location, only a short walk to the sunset bars.rnI would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent hotel that doesn't cost the earth. rn

As usuual everything about the Gran Sol was spot on. It's clean, quiet, air conditioned and fantastic value for money. Friendly staff, lovely gardens, nice pool and great security amount to a hotel nearing a 4 star outfit as opposed it's 2 star rating. Situated just behind Kanya and only 5 mins walk from Mambo & Savannah. Recommednded for everyone; from families with kids to clubbers wanting a place to chill out.

The hotel was lovely, all you'd want. What spoilt our stay were the staff - very rude. The cleaner managed to throw away my friend's dress by accident (no apology); on check out we were not thanked once for our custom and made to wait for some time to pay (customers who came to the desk after us were served first). We had a taxi waiting and this treatment caused a lot of anxiety for us before travel. Also returning to the hotel late at night was met an unfriendly "who are you?" - each time. Need to improve their customer service big time.

Came back to Ibiza for the 7th time this year! This is the 3rd time I've stayed at Gran Sol and I cannot fault it. Such a lovely hotel, good security doors on rooms, nice pool and garden area to sunbathe. Bar food is very cheap as well as drinks. Excellent service, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Great location by sunset strip and 5 min walk to west end. Well worth it!

Just returned from a one week stay and thought on the whole it was great value. The hotel was very clean, the rooms nice, clean towels most days, staff very polite, nice peaceful garden area with sun loungers away from the pool area, good location as the main part of town was only a 10 minute walk. The food was ok but very repetitive and in buffet form. You could eat as much as you want but it was quite basic. Get what you pay for though. The only thing that spoilt the holiday was lack of sleep and that was down to the amount of drunken morans who were staying here and running down the corridors screaming and swearing and kicking doors between 0200 and 0700 hrs. That ruined it for us.

This hotel is great!rnrnThe location is superb hardly any time at all to the sunset bars (Mambo, Del Mar etc) and only a little bit further in the opposite direction to the Dead-End, sorry West End.rnrnDon't be concerned about the star rating it punches higher than that! We had no problems at all, the air con is great, every room has a sizable balcony, decent bathroom. The buffet breakfast fills a hole and the bar and pool area is nice.rnrnI would happily return!

I am writing this review over a year late but I was just rebooking the hotel again this year.I stayed there in 2006 and I would stay there again because of the fantastic value for money and the location which cannot be beaten. Just 100 yds from the Sunset bars and 7/8 mins walk to the west end yet the area is very quiet at night. No problems with getting a good nights sleep, decent breakfast and nice pool. What more would you want.Looking forward to going back again.

We were extremely impressed with the Gran Sol hotel. I travel a lot for work and normally stay in 4 and 5 star hotels so was expecting to be somewhat disappointed staying in a 2 star 'holiday hotel'. I wasn't disappointed at all.
You couldn't fault the service - the maids cleaned our room every day within about 20 minutes of us turning the sign on the door from 'do not disturb' to 'please make up the room', the breakfast (when we made it in time) offered great choice and even English sausages instead of frankfurters - hurrah! The whole hotel appeared clean and there were always enough sun loungers around the pool or garden area to sun bathe.
The location was great as well - walking distance, yet still far enough away from the tacky West End to avoid the 'Brits on Tour' crowds you get at all the "lively" resorts in the Med, 2 minutes walk from the Cala des Moro beach and the chilled out bars there, only 5-10 mins from minutes from the sunset strip bars.
We hadn't been to Ibiza before and only went this year as it was my sister-in-law's honeymoon and they invited us all out there with them! My husband and I are already planning 2 weeks next year and will certainly be staying at the Gran Sol again.

The one thing that we can say about this hotel is good value for money.
We only stayed for 4 nights but we shall be returning.
It;s only 5 mins walk from sunset srip and about 10mins walk from the west end and harbour so ideally located to get everywhere on foot.
There was a mixed age group of people staying in the hotel but it was september so not noisy.
We definately recommend it.

Fantastic. This is my second visit to the Gransol, fifth visit to Ibiza always staying in Sanan and I,m no spring chicken. I love the atmosphere especially the chill out bars. Been all over the island [agaian], and it,s still beautiful. The hotel Gransol is spotlessly clean, the staff are very helpful and freindly and the food was good as well. The holiday was excellent value for money. Booking through Ibiza spotlight was so simple even for a computer novice like me. I have made many reccomendations to my freinds and collueages to visit your website, it is extremely heipful and easy to navigate. Thee cheers for Ibiza spotlight!!!

This was my second time in Ibiza and my second time at the Gran Sol. It a very well run hotel, with polite and helpful staff - although try not to get on the wrong side of the night manager whilst enjoying a few late night drinks in your room - he is a bit scary!
The hotel has everything you need, it is spotlessly clean, and brilliant value for money for a 2 star hotel. It is conveniently located and 5-10 minutes walk from the "Sunset Strip" but far enough away that the noise does not become a disturbance.
I would recommend the Gran Sol to anyone that is thinking of staying in San Antonio, and I will definitely be booking up to stay next year for my Ibiza fix!

4 irish girls stayed here at Gran Sol Hotel we would really recommend the hotel to anyone who enjoys partying but still want to have quiet accomodation and no music blaring all day this is the place to stay very clean and staff were nice. The food was excellent and also Kayne Beach was only a few minutes away this this was a popular bar and the food was ok. The main strip was only a short stroll away. Staying at this hotel you have the best of both worlds piece during the day and partying by night. We rate this hotel 100%.

I really enjoyed staying at the Gran Sol. The pool and garden were very nice and relaxing, also the bar food/drinks were very good value. On the days I got up for breakfast there was lots of choice which was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I've stayed in quite a few places in Ibiza and this is the best hotel so far, in fact I have just booked to come back and stay here in September! Excellent choice.

Stayed at the Gran Sol for one week (Bed & Breakfast) with my husband, daughter and her friend (both nearly 17).
Really nice hotel with friendly staff especially Tony & Pepe on the bar. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the Breakfast was buffet style with a good choice of English and Continental (not bad for the price). The pool area was clean and gardens well kept. Down the road is the beach (5mins walk) and also Kanya/Coastline bars which were great for watching the sunset's, and they also had good food & music. Would recommend David's Pizzeria (about 10-15mins walk from hotel) good selection of food & drink and not badly priced either and if you like your British grub then my daughter and her friend recommend Fatso's (around the corner from hotel). The west end was a hit with the girls as they met up with other British teenagers (busy but not as bad as I thought it would be). Cafe Mambo also nearby (drinks not cheap though, 16 Euros for 2 Vodka'n'Coke), Pussycat's near the marina good and you can get your Club tickets cheaper from there. Will go back definately and stay at Gran Sol (should be 3-4 star)but not for a few years as other destinations to explore.
Best wishes from Manchester.

A lovely, modern and clean hotel with large air conditioned bedrooms and excellent showers. The location is about 100 yards from a beautiful beach and some fantastic new bars and restaurants. The pool is lovely and quiet and the sunloungers are covered in thick cushions - great for kipping during the day!
About 10 mins walk to the main strip in San Antonio. I will definately be going back.

Cannot fault the Hotel. Hotel was cheap, yet the rooms were clean (cleaned daily), had Air Conditioning, TV Phone, pleasant decor, good clean friendly pool area and fairly quiet despite its location.
Kanya and Coastline 100yds away as well as a host of Cafe's and shops on the doorstep.
Despite only having a 2* rating, this is probably the best hotel I have stayed in Ibiza and will be returning.

the price was excellent and i think it deserves more than a two star rating.the place was immaculate.after staying in a place with shared bathrooms and then coming here it was unbeleivable.the bathrooms are massive and very nice.a five minute walk to cafe del mar, mambo's and savannahs and two minute walk to coastline,we had our own beach a stonethrow away which was good for sleepless sunrises and it was also only a five minute walk into the west end.we were very surprised, great value for money.made our holiday.
