It's hot. The pool area of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, between the reception and the Great Hall, is full of people who live in the hammocks and chairs or taking advantage of the boom for a quick dip. Next to water, on lawns or in the shade of parasols, several teams working in recording interviews and reports. Alongside them, a continuous exchange of data, emails and agendas saturated smartphones. The International Music Summit (IMS) was sailing at full speed yesterday in his first day in the relaxed atmosphere outside clashed with the content that prevailed in the Great Hall, which developed the various presentations of the day.

At one o'clock, the creators of the IMS, Ben Turner, Danny Whittle, Mark Netto, Pete Tong, Simeon Friend, gave the starting signal and the Great Hall began to spend the first speakers of the day. There were David Boyle of EMI Group, who presented the study his company has done on the consumption habits of electronic music around the world, or responsible social networking sites like Twitter, Foursquare or Spotify. Among the musical production in the various panels, brands such as Puma or Coke analyzed the way how these big companies ever closer to the music industry.

The hymn
Early in the afternoon, the Irish Gary Curran and Gareth Donoghue, The Japanese Popstars, who presented the issue as a hymn composed in this year's IMS. On the same, said it is "a very basic structure, divided into four parts. We wanted to convey the strength of Ibiza through percussion. " Actually, the topic is very well defined four parts, with a powerful rhythm section and domineering in the central part of the issue and could be heard blaring in the Great Hall. After listening, seemed to float in the air the words of producer and representative Jho Oakley, who in a previous panel said, when asked what the moderator had to do from now on electronic music: "We must take risks and move on. Making music that has not been heard before. "

Last night ended with dinner in honor of Carl Cox Lio and parties at Pacha, Grail and Bubbles. This afternoon, from 19.00 hours, the bastion of Santa Llúcia host one of the major events of the IMS, the party of David Guetta, which will feature guests from the likes of Will.i.am, Paul Oakenfold, Diplo , MINX and Goldfish.

I noticed on the original poster for the Friday it mentions "entry by 18.30", I have had confirmation that I have tickets for the Thursday too but as I'm working wont be able to make it until around 9pm. Does anybody know if entry is open all night if you have a ticket?

in that venue these two nights are two of the best parties of the summer. well worth coming just for the friday and if you may get lucky and can go to thursday as well!

I think its great that they through this kind of free party, even if the headliners arent my cup of tea... the friday looks imense... and we are currently trying to rearrange our plans so we can come for the openings now... fingers crossed we can all do it!!!

(it was me who swore never to go to the openings again... but hey... what the hell... :lol: )

I would be honoured to put on a free party in the real spirit of Ibiza and show you hows it done. Not one VIP table or bottle of Crystal in sight and it would be full of genuine people not "moaners" as you refer to them.

About time the Island was returned to the people rather than the wealthy elite that now control it.
