BBC Radio 1 Ibiza Weekender 2011

BBC Radio 1 announces full details and line up’s of its annual Ibiza event.

Always a highly anticipated date at the height of the Ibiza summer season, BBC Radio 1 is back on Friday 5^th August presenting a musical extravaganza of some of the hottest dance acts around.  This year the free party will be hosted at the stunning Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel, fast gaining a reputation for being one of the top venues on the island.

For free entrance to Ushuaia look out for wristbands which will be available in advance from selected outlets around Ibiza.  Rob Da Bank will be opening proceedings from Ushuaia with ‘Wig Party’, joined by special guests SBTRK, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Hip Hop Karoke, Professor Green and DJ Alfredo. Annie Mac and Pete Tong then continue the party live on-air with names like Calvin Harris, Carl Cox and Erick Morillo taking to the decks throughout the show.

A special extended Essential Mix will be broadcast live from ‘Come Together’ at the world famous nightclub Space, featuring sets from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Deadmau5, as well as Rob Da Bank chatting with special guests on the Space roof terrace.

Vernon Kay takes over on Saturday with a show of dance DJ’s, anthems and highlights from the night before, followed by Trevor Nelson who rounds off the marathon weekender with Radio 1 and Radio 1xtra listeners.
