Cream Ibiza 2010 Preview

Ibiza just wouldn't be Ibiza without big time party makers Cream and their 2010 party looks set to be enormous.

Standing under the ice cannon in the Amnesia Main Room hearing trance classics is one of the iconic moments of many a clubbing experience for Ibiza visitors, thousands of whom flock to Cream's long running Thursday night event every week.

This year, Paul Van Dyk is back again as Main Room resident but will also get to play two sets on the Terrace, where the spectacular laser show used in 2009 will get a good run out. There is a plenty of other trance and melodic house too of course with Eddie Halliwell, Ferry Corsten, Adam Sheridan and Above & Beyond all playing throughout the season.

The Original Mau5 head

The big news is on the Terrace though, where Deadmau5 headlines with a 7-consecutive-date residency in August and September, for which the club will be transformed into a live arena, with stage and visuals and showcasing his new LED head, which smashes the original design out of the water. Even bigger news as far as Spotlight HQ are concerned, is that Eric Prydz is also resident with 6 dates, including 2 in the Main Room when he swops with PVD.

Also supporting on the Terrace and certainly worth a mention are Calvin Harris, Mylo, Laidback Luke, Chris Lake, John Dahlback and Fake Blood.

Remember that you can gain access to the VIP balcony for all Cream events, just add this option when you buy your tickets. You'll be welcome of the space and the view when Deadmau5 rolls into town.

They're working on a new studio album at the minute, hence why they couldn't commit to anything.

I've been to both old and new. The old 9:30 was legend, of course.

I liked the new one up on V St. Saw some good shows there. A much bigger space but that was a good thing considering the old 9:30 was a bit of a deathtrap when they got good acts in there!

The new one helped lead the re-emergence of the U St corridor. That area is all cleaned up now... last I was there there were decent restaurants, bars, etc. and the theater nearby had been revived.

I hope he suffocates in that mask on stage

Poor little fella.................

He does a lot of shows and just as much traveling but I'm not buying sheer exhaustion.

I was looking forward to seeing him in Croatia. Don't even know if I'm going to be able to go anymore for other reasons though. Quite a shame.

I hope the kid gets better - and sticks to producing vs. being a DJ/performer.
