We Love residents Tiefschwarz up for grabs

Last week we plugged the brothers that comprise the Tiefschwarz phenomenon. Slightly spookily a couple of days later Spotlight saw the Ali half in trendy Ibiza Town vintage clothes boutique Holala!

'How has Tiefschwarz's summer been?' we asked ourselves. 'What's their opinion on mass clubbing tourism?' 'Would Ali pay €179 for the vintage Nikes?'

The answer to this last question is no. Unlike some flashier of djs, they're not trainer obsessives. Find out what is worth their approval below.

Spotlight: Which hotel are you at?

Ali Schwarz: Ocean Drive. It's kind of the dj hotel.

Who else is staying there right now?

Ali: Paul Woolford, Groove Armada, normally people from Cocoon. Stuff like that

How was Cocoon last Monday?

Ali: I really liked it. We played with Sven in the main room.

Why only one date at Amnesia?

When you play Space as a resident that was the maximum we could get. It's politics.

Did you hit the afterparty?

No. We went with friends to a private apartment.
 
What's it been like at Space?

The advantages are so obvious. Space is the most focused. It is the biggest imprint. When you see it from a greater perspective, Space is the one that everybody knows. It's a very good promotion platform for us.

Is there any one party that really stands out this year?
 
All nights have been good. We definitely love the terrace, it's amazing, the sound, the atmosphere, the vibe. But we can't really choose. It's basically up to them, We Love, where we are.

What is it about the discoteca that works?

I don't know. We press a button and everybody goes upside down. At the birthday they had this huge cotton sheet and stretched it out over the people and they all looked like little ghosts. Somehow the connection, the vibe in the room is really good.

Have you tested new tracks on the masses? Which ones?

Of course, always when we have a new production we test it. We have a new record label Souvenir There's one people really like called 'Hey' under our name Ichundu - one word, only one d. 

What if anything, would you like to change at Space?
 
I think while sound wise everything's perfect, sometimes i wished the crowd would be a little less touristic.  But that's a problem with every club on the island, not just Space. Sometimes it would be nice to have a little more who were actually coming for the music some of them are there because it's Space.

What, if anything, would like to change about the rest of ibiza?

We can't complain. The music changed so much. Five years ago you had to like trance or cheesy house. It's such a big change. We can't complain at all. All those who only had big English djs they really had to step aside. I think it's for everybody's good.

Will you be back next year?

I'm sure next year somehow. We have to finish this summer first. I'm sure we will have another offer to play here but we didn't talk to anybody yet.
