Kasabian are made for Ibiza. The vainglorious ambition of the UK rockers finds its natural home in the White Isle scene which not only wants to be the summer home for trance, house and techno, but rock'n'indie too.
 
Island house holder Noel Gallagher of Oasis reportedly persuaded Kasabian to agree to their first trip here. The mono-browed guitar hero, who accompanied Manumission's Andy McKay to Space's monumental opening party earlier this year, believes the gigs will skyrocket the band to superstardom.

Ibiza Town - August 6, 2006

After a break of more than a year, the band opened for the Rolling Stones earlier this month and have recently charted with the anthemic single 'Empire'. With its war themes and glam stomp 'Empire' is the perfect soundtrack for the tour of duty that is an Ibiza club season.

Kasabian have sent for reinforcements after the desertion of founding member Chris Karloff and there could be more casualties. The Manumission villa which has already featured in the tabloids after being trashed by Boy Kill Boy will tonight be invaded by the tooled up Bez-alikes that make up the Kasabian entourage.

Fellow NME darlings the Fratellis and Zane Lowe are also on the bill. Doors open at 8pm.

Kasabian will also be performing a "dj set" at Manumission on Friday night. More line ups here
