Kim Fai is a name that is on the tip of everyone's tongue at the moment. His re-make of the classic Inner City track "Good Life" has caught the attention of the industries major players including Pete Tong [Played on Essential Selection] Erick Morillo, Axwell, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Fedde Le Grand, Carl Cox, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South, ATFC and Steve Angello, who quickly snapped it up for release on his Size Records label. The track is set to be one of the anthems of the summer after being played by pretty much every major DJ on the circuit and is currently taking the white isle by storm!
Not one to hang around Kim has this year also remixed for Steve Angello, Funkagenda & Exacta, Ladyhawke [Modular], Tommy Sparks [Island Records], Medina [EMI], John Dahlback, Kings Of Leon, and also released an exclusive remix of Mark Knight's "Drug Music" on the Toolroom Head Honcho's recent Toolroom Knights Compilation Album. His "Mad Money", "Paris Is Burning" and "Isabel" Remixes, as well as Steve Angello's Remix of his original track "POV", all featured on Radio 1 on both Essential Mixes and Radio 1's Miami WMC 2009 Special. Pete Tong has also included Kim's Ladyhawke mix on his latest Wonderland Compilation Album.
With an ever expanding arsenal of his own productions, remixes and re-edits, Kim's DJ sets have become an opportunity for him to showcase his latest work to some of the worlds greatest dance floors gaining loyal supporters where ever he goes. Appearances at Cream [Amnesia, Liverpool], Pacha [Ibiza, London and Lithuania], Mansion [Miami], Ministry Of Sound, Global Gathering, Cream Fields, Extrema Outdoor and Sankey's are testament to this.
After remixing for the best part of the year Kim is ready to get back on his original work. After representing the Toolroom Knights brand across the globe this year, he's ready to touch down with a new "Tai Shui Hang" EP for Toolroom's LONS Label. Kim will also be working on some very special studio collaborations over the coming months, as well as keeping his stream of productions flowing as rapidly as ever. There's no sign of this guys taking his foot of the gas for one second!
