Located in the countryside at 5.6km down the road from Ibiza to Sant José, luxurious lounge bar and restaurant Km5 offers a tranquil setting for evening cocktails or a glamorous buzz for a nighttime party.
Originally an old farm house, the venue stylistically straddles rustic Ibicencan charm and sleek modern white-wash, attracting the intrigued, the wealthy and the island's prominent personalities. Home to a fashion conscious crowd Km5 caters to its clientele with its very own Km5 clothing and accessory boutique. The collection consists of detailed designs of hand-printed silk blouses, maxi dresses, sequined blazers and statement tops in earthy colours and tribal prints - extravagent and stylish designs with prices to match. Km5 is proud of its involvement in promoting design and culture in Ibiza, also hosting a gallery space with rotating exhibitions of local and international artists.
The exclusive gourmet restaurant (which you will need to book in advance) provides a menu packed with flavour, designed by head Chef Emiliano Savastano, who has manned Km5's kitchen for 11 years now. Aside from the restaurant area, which is decorated with beautifully crafted chandeliers and separated from the inside bar by a glass partition, Km5 also features an incredible lounge garden which is home to both palm and orange trees decorated in rope lighting. Cream seating and umbrellas greet you outside and are accompanied by chest like tables ablaze with an orange glow. A Bedouin style tent with warm orange sofas, red chandeliers and beautifully crafted wooden tables also lays to the side of the outdoor area.
There is always a good soundtrack behind any Km5 night, provided by island resident DJs with the occasional guest headliner, which can be enjoyed outside under the stars or inside around the DJ booth, where the atmosphere is closer to a jumping club than a bar!
The clientele at Km5 are in a more mature age bracket than those you might find in Playa d'en Bossa bars, but they party even harder - a night at Km5 could be a few quiet drinks on a lounge, or a marathon dancing and drinking stint with half of Ibiza's music and hospitality industry. Though not the rustic venue it was, the contemporised Km5 is one of Ibiza's iconic bars where you're guaranteed to meet an international, interesting crowd of people, especially at the extemely well-attended opening and closing parties where the venue really comes alive.
