The We Love story continues... at Sankeys

Long live We Love and the smiles it brings to people's faces.

A mixture of sadness and joy today as we share the news that one of our favourite parties of the last few decades has written the last page of their We Love... Space story. 17 years of great memories from a party that totally owned the Sunday night party slot. Many came before it, many came during their reign, but none ever quite managed to match the feeling you could find on any given Sunday with We Love at Space.

In recent years the We Love party went through some changes, both in terms of management behind the scenes with the much loved Mark and Sarah Broadbent departing after the 2013 season leaving the party in the good hands of long-term champion - Darren Hughes.

“After 17 years of We Love Sundays at Space it is now time for the next phase in the genesis of We Love, and that it is to be working alongside David Vincent and Danny Whittle (Danny being an integral part of Home at Space/We Love Space right at the very beginning back in 1999) and I cannot wait for this to start. We Love Sankeys… Yes we do!” - Darren Hughes, We Love Promoter

Whilst we are indeed sad that our Sunday Roast dinners won't be followed by the delicious dance music dessert of We Love anymore, we are properly excited to hear that the story continues on Wednesdays, just down the road at the island's king of the underground - Sankeys.

The party kicks off on Wednesday 17th June, continuing on for 15 weeks with the closing party on Wednesday 23rd September.

Line-ups have yet to be announced, but We Love has shown itself to be a leading light in cool, alternative sounds over the years. With the likes of Modeselektor, James Zabiela, Skream, Alfredo, Hot Chip, Jeff Mills, Groove Armada, Underworld, Aphex Twin, Rudimental and much, much more all featured.

Sankeys can certainly offer a similar style club layout to Space, only a smaller scale of course, that would suit We Love's eclectic programming, allowing different types of music to be represented across the Basement, Lab and Spectrum, with the roof terrace also offering a chance to start the party early whilst the sun is out. Something We Love has had before the roof went on the Space terrace and laterly with the Sunset Terrace sessions.

Earlybird tickets are on sale now for 25€.

Change is inevitable, we embrace it and suggest you all do too. Long live We Love!
