62,000 flights

Last year Ibiza airport saw more passengers pass through it than ever before, over 5.6 million in fact, a 12% increase on the 2010. They arrived and departed (so Ibiza actually had about 2.8 million visitors minus the number of local folks using the airport) on around 62,000 flights, another record!

Temperatures in Ibiza at the moment are higher than normal throughout the warm days but there's a big difference between daily maximum and minimum temperatures with the nights being colder than average. Farmers on the island say that the high rainfall in November and warmer temperatures now will ensure that the cereal crop this year will be excellent.

Electricity consumption is slightly less this year, 15,340 megawatts per hour, than last year, though electricity company Endesa say this is due to the freezing cold weather the island experienced in 2010 which affected much of the orange crop.
