Ibiza has benefited from a change in the telecommunications law which has allowed local authorities to provide free Wi Fi to the public. With the help of central government, Ibiza town hall has spent €112,000 on providing Wi Fi coverage of 250 kb – enough to browse the Internet, but not enough to download gigantic files – across the town.
