we spend between €6 and €150 on lottery tickets
Some snippets of our Christmas and New Year traditions and news.
Ibiza's (and the Balearics') first new year baby was born 8 minutes after the stroke of midnight in Can Misses hospital. He's Mateu Moya Juan and weighed 3.5 kilos when he appeared, much to the delight of mum and dad, Monica and Vicente.
Eating, drinking and not doing very much else over the festive period take their toll on our waistlines. The average weight increase per person in Spain is 1.5 kilos around Christmas.
We all like a flutter on the lottery at Christmas. For most of us, 65% in fact, it's the only time we buy a ticket all year, but boy, do we spend some cash. The majority of people spend between €6 and €150 on tickets, while 2% spend under €6 and almost 10% spend over €150!

The festive period in Spain isn't over yet as we still have the arrival of the Three Kings bearing gifts on Tuesday night followed by a well earned public holiday on Wednesday 6th
Shopaholics should note that the New Year sales commence in Ibiza on Thursday 7th. Happy purchasing.
